Take a look at the original post; there is a link to the build thread. Reading it I became even more impressed, and also decided this is something I'll never do. I'll be happy just appreciating the work!

This stuff here. It says it works on plastics but I also did 2 coats of duplicolor plastic adhesive promoter as well. That raptor paint goes on incredibly even and smooth. I always seem to get at least one spot I over paint and get a drip. Not this stuff. Coated so nice and even. No I even areas. I was super impressed. Finally did 3 coats of duplicolor 1K clear extreme matte finish. Says it’s chemical resistant and temps up to 250F The ultimate test will be how long it lasts. 66C2955E-B261-4130-8307-39A80D3C2004.jpg5270A822-1742-4119-80A0-3C93CA4898E1.jpg

    Cool-cool!

I have Bushwacker Fender Flares on my Sport but will not update my wheels/tires/suspension for at least another 6-8 months.

What sorta set-up you got going on?

18x9 wheels. 62mm offset over stock 16x7. 285/65/18 yokohama geolander mt goo3. I think the tires are around 55 lbs. Not sure on the weight of the wheels.

    A few.
They don’t necessarily need to be stainless per se, but you’ll definitely want some corrosion resistance with whatever fastener go with i.e. stainless, zinc, gold zinc, etc. I’ve had good luck pre-painting bolt heads and being gentle with them during installation, then doing some touch ups afterwards.

My point above was that black oxide on a mild steel bolt was not corrosion resistant. Just trying to save you the headache and frustration of rusty fasteners down the line. Again I recommend anti-seize on most bolts, but stainless for sure.

I would do the “classic” spit/saliva test. Or soapy water…

Glad all are OK! These truck do what they were designed to do, protect the occupants - #1 priority. Hope all goes well with the recovery and replacement.

This past April someone pulled out in front of my daughter in the 2nd gen - saved her and her boyfriend - no intrusion into the interior.

Good thing we all were driving trucks when encountering jackholes in the wild.
