If you start watching Best Buy daily, They most likely will go on sale again towards Christmas. The lowest price I saw to the public was $229.00. They offered them to Total Tech members for $135.00 for a short time with free installation. No offense to anyone at Best Buy, but frankly my experience with their installers left me less than confident. So I had a local shop that was a PRO Cumpustar dealer/installer do the work. They did the work for $150.00 plus another $40.00 for a harness kit that was needed for my make and model of Taco. I learned that the 4905S-Kit was an exclusive offering from BB. The Teck/MGR told me the module included in this kit was one of Compustar's most proven and trusted. I really like the two-way confirmation that the truck is started. I also like the fact that the kit does much more than start my truck. It can lock the doors at set prompts. This along with the fact that it is made to be easily expandable to act as an alarm etc... I gave it its first real test for range yesterday. I was at Academy Sports and purposely parked about 2/3rds away from the total width of their parking lot away from the entrance. At this particular location, the restrooms are to the furthermost left back of the building. There, I pressed and held the start button. It first acknowledged receipt of the request to start and about two seconds later confirmed that the truck was started. I don't know the exact distance, but if you have ever been to an Academy you know that this is impressive. The key here is BB total tech, CONSIDER IT. Its cost stings, but almost pays for itself on the savings of this one purchase. And you may have real Techs at your location that can save you the installation cost as well. Good luck with your efforts, and let us know how it turns out.

Edit; My son decided to schedule an appointment to have Best Buy do his installation given the fact, as I had said, it is free to total tach members. He asked for the install tech to give us a call for a short Q&A. My impression after that exchange was that he was completely competent.

The only thing I can see that would be different between BB and the Compustar Pro shop I spoke of was that the BB shop uses Stak-on or crimp connections and the Pro does all solder joint connections. When we asked about them possibly soldering they said they would do it for a $120.00 an hour fee. Something to consider.

    02/01/23 Edit;

Install completed by BB and is functioning as it should. BTW. The BB people have been very professional and informative about our understanding of the capabilities and proper use of the unit. Although I am very happy with the installation I paid extra for. I do feel that the work my son had done at BB was on par in every aspect.

if you are wondering about the range of the 12Volt Systems remote, I did 1,200 feet Sunday, all outside, but not completely line of sight (at least one bldg in the way).

I posted earlier about my experience at Academy. I can't say what the actual distance was. But it was from inside the building to the very furthest back to about 2/3rds out in the parking lot. I'm guessing at least 1500 to 1800 feet. I just checked 12/17/22 and the unit I posted the link to is no longer on sale. But I feel sure that if you monitor the link it will be on sale again between now and Christmas. Not often you pick up a $500 item for $135 and remember that installation is at least @150 and a total tech membership is $200 for the year. This makes the installation free and all kinds of discounts and benefits on almost everything you buy at BB. Well, good luck and Merry Christmas Taco Brothers & Sisters!

I had a 12volt one it was great!
2 long range 2 way remotes.
The kit is plug and play no cutting anything.
    The dash comes apart easy.
    Range was great.

I didn’t get the lte but it is an option I believe.
I work in a machine shop.
    It’s a metal bldg.
I inspect parts inside a metal room inside that metal bldg.
Lots of machines and metal everywhere.
Hadn’t measured the distance but no else’s at the shop worked that good.
I wanna say 1/4 mile I park as far away as I can.

Had an Accessorides done over the weekend by a friend. Plug n play install, very straightforward. Can't speak to range as I only use it to start in my driveway so I don't have to scrape and have a warm truck. Quick search found a discount code so $249.

Installed the accessorides kit on my 2005. I love having modern features on an old reliable truck. Only took an hour to install, only pain was the door lock plug. My one complaint is that it doesn't flash my lights when i lock or unlock with the new remote. What's weird is I swear my lights did flash when I was testing this at home yesterday. It was repeatable too. However when I parked at work today and walked away from the truck I got no confirmation upon locking it. Can anyone confirm if theirs does the same? The instructions for this device are simple and to the point but maybe too simple. I actually just found out that this unit is just a re-branded Compustar FMX system (which is really owned by Firstech). The manual is labeled "G15" on their website. Lots of other great information here, and other useful features they don't mention in anything that came with the kit. However I don't see anything related to my issue with confirmation lights. I opted out of hooking up the "optional" horn wire but I may actually do that now. I initially preferred my truck to be silent to not annoy people/neighbors around me, i like it stealthy. However I prefer knowing that my truck is locked when I press the button, plus this can be easily turned off with the remote at any time.

    Mine is a '14
My lights flash when I lock. Like you, I didn't enable horn. Maybe check the fob programming?

All aftermarket remote starts and aftermarket alarms are garbage and belong in the garbage.

I am starting to feel that way !! I just went over my install, didn't see anything wrong. And I wired up the horn wire since I can turn this off via the remote anyway.

Worth noting I have done the "always on" fog light mod, this might explain some issues but who knows. I might try disabling that later..

Heres the latest development: Could not seem to get the "chirp" to turn on following the quick guide or looking at the full guide for any clues, both of which do not list my actual remote model number but were shipped with the package for what its worth. Same goes with the "lock doors upon driving feature." We are dealing with a foreign product, that has been rebranded many times. Accessorides provides the "Nustart" starter with their custom wiring harnesses. The starter kit is ACTUALLY a Compustar, which seems to be owned by Firstech...it VERY closely resembles the Firstech/compustar G15 (FMX) manual, which I found on my own, and is never refrenced in the provided kit.

I DO get confirmation via lights from my truck if I turn off the headlights completely before leaving it. However I was just outside trying it several times for repeatability and it seems to go downhill the more I try it. It will pick and choose when it wants to confirm. The horn worked a couple times too, maybe once along with the lights as it is supposed to lol but that was it. I don't even know how that makes sense.

Update: I just went outside rather than doing this from inside, and I had better luck with repeatability. Despite the fact that this remote will work from 3000 feet away, it was more responsive/successful at a 20 foot range or at least outside my home. I have what i'd say a lot of wireless devices in my home and I wonder if radio interference was contributing (along with the headlight switch position). I have several wifi light bulbs, a strong router, a cell booster, and countless other devices that use wifi. This is only my 2nd day with the remote start so maybe I need to see how this plays out. In the meantime the essential functions work so I guess thats good lol

@will.i.was You may have the answer I need since no one else has posted about early 2nd gen installs. I don’t know how much you remember about 7900AS install. I am having issues installing a Compustar 7900AS remote starter with blade AL on a 2010 Tacoma DCLB. The remote starter cranks but won’t start, unless I put the key in the ignition. The rest of the alarm works. I figure that it is an immobilizer issue, I have flashed the blade with the proper firmware, but when installing it in the truck, I get no lights on the blade at all, red or blue.
I factory reset the Blade AL, and it flashes red upon completion. But then I don’t get any more lights so I can’t get it to program to my truck.
The Blade harness only has 4 wires to connect: Ground, Keysense, Immobilizer TX and Immobilizer RX. I connected wires directly at the ignition. Still nothing.
Thinking the Blade unit may be defective, I ordered a second Blade AL and 7900AS system. I still can’t program it to the truck and the remote cranks without starting.
Is there something I am missing? Maybe a wire I didn’t connect?

You have to disconnect the main wiring harness to the alarm and then plug in the ftdi usb harness from laptop to the unit. The USB provides power to the alarm and won't otherwise power it up unless the main power wiring harness is removed. I believe it is the 10 pin, largest connector there is.

Ensure you reflash it and test again. I was stuck where you were for weeks and I'm 100% thats it.

Do you have pictures of your truck and all the mentioned items here in TW? I’d like to see all that! Especially the water tank and associated fittings. Very Impressive!!
