    So this issue (video).
    https://youtube.com/shorts/YhsIMqHOQOU?feature=share

Loss of acceleration. A loud clank dependent on vehicle speed. A simular vehicle speed vibration....

I'm out of my league on repairing this myself. I can at the very least pull the third...

I remember East Coast Gear Supply was recommended for rebuildt diffs. But this was a decade or so ago...

    Any recommendations? Comments?

Anyway, saw it in your other thread. The pitch of the clanging seems to match the driveshaft rotation, so probably something in the pinion gear area. Maybe a distintegrated pinion bearing or broken tooth on the pinion gear.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Pull the differential see what your dealing with.

Until then everyone is just guessing.

Might be a simple fix any local shop into rebuilding differentials in house ?

Check the BST for someone local .

It all comes down to how soon you need to be up and running.

    Good luck.

Dude. I might as well be on the dark side of the moon where I'm at. Lol. Complete incompetence.

Don't you need a jig for the pinon? I have absolutely no idea...

    I have another vehicle.

If it is the diff, I’d get a quote locally to have it rebuilt, and I’d try to source a used diff and compare prices.

I wouldn’t worry to much about a used diff. they should last a long time. I have 335k on the Tacoma and 315k on my first Gen Tundra.

I have 488's. With the elocker. They are pretty rare to find.

No I had a local shop not stake the pinion nut. So if it's the pinion. That's what probably caused it to fail.

You don't need a jig to pull the third member from the axle housing. Once the third member is removed, you can determine if it's something you want a local shop to do or send it in to ECGS. You can also source a salvage yard third member from Car-Part.Com and just drop it in.

No I meant the pinion. I've pulled the 3rd before.

    I wasn't sure.

I'll try checking on rebuild shops but I'll need to be looking in Phoenix.

Kinda just want to get a rebuilt unit & ship back the core... I mean if this diff is coreable.

Pull it. Take a photo of the damage. Email that photo to ECGS to see if they will honor it as a core. If they do have them send you a new one and ship the core back.

Yep. They built my 5.29's ARB F/R 4 years ago. This was right about the time ARB had major leaking issues caused by the bonded seal. They replaced the bonded seal with a newer version at no cost to me. Not even shipping. They stand behind that 5 year warranty.

Sounds like a ring geag bolt has backed out and hitting the housing or a broken tooth.

ZUK will do it up right if he's taking new work.

ECGS is also good to go, have had them do several thirds with good success
