Ok so cut wire, one end goes to the switch (which I will ground somewhere) and where does the other end go? Almost need a pic for this to make sense lol.

    Other end?
If you do have the blue wire going to the steering column connector (C11) the t-tap it. Don't cut it.

Ok I found a pic of the t tap earlier in this post. Thank you. I have a bed light switch so will I need to grab power from somewhere else to get the light to work on the switch? Also have you found anything that looks better than the 2nd hen switch that will be easy enough to connect to the t tap as well as get power to light it up. Appreciate your help. This is SLOWLY starting to make a little more sense.

I’m guessing I don’t have an unused deck lighting plug since I have a bed cargo light switch installed.

I guess last couple questions and I’ll give you a break lol. Appreciate all your help btw.
So do you have a link to the switch?
How do I power a switch now that my deck light is used?
Are the steps the same for this is I used say diode dynamics or some other fog light kit with their harness?
I saw you came up with a plug and play harness for a switch you made, do I need that as well?

I think that’s it. Lol. And once again I appreciate your help I’d be completely lost without the info you gave me.

Wish I understood these diagrams. So am I still pulling power from the cargo harness?

Yes, just illumination to the added switch. It'll dim with the other dash switches.

Appreciate it. I’ll probably order that harness if it makes my life any easier then
    It’ll be worth it.

It's the one you made for me that uses the FJ switch.

well fellas i got everything installed. followed the steps. i put the steering wheel back on and i have to turn it a little to the left to go straight. If i hold it straight it drifts right. I also have error codes popping up now. Check VSCS, Lane departure alert malfunction, Pre collision system malfunction, and Headlight system malfunction. Any ideas whats going on. Im hoping its as easy as recentering the clock spring to fix the steering wheel issue. Any help would be appreciated because its a very expensive paperweight right now. Thank you

Edit: my SR5 was pre-wired and I followed the steering wheel off method. I just went and triple checked if all the plugs were plugged in and they are. I was hoping that was just the issue. I tried to recenter the clock spring and steering wheel but I have no idea what im doing because it still drifts to the right when the steering wheel is in the straight forward position.

Update: i found a video to show how to recenter the clock spring and steering wheel and it now drives straight whilst the wheel is straight. One problem down...Im still getting VSC, lane departure, cruise control, lighting system and pre collision system errors...my headlights and foglights all works properly it just gives errors.

Im thinking since i messed up the clock spring originally, didnt have it centered, and went for a drive it messed up some calibration. May try a zero point calibration to see if that fixes it.

Really upset with myself and I wish i didnt do the steering wheel off method, im afraid taking it to the dealership will cost me a fortune.

Disconnect the battery and let it sit for 20 minutes. Reconnect and try starting it again and see if the codes are still there.

ty for the reply, I have tried that, and leaving it off over night. To no avail. The errors still pop up.

I would unplug the radar behind the grille emblem and reseat the connectors next. If I remember right there's one on the grille and one on the radiator support.
