I bought a pair of LED tail lights from them 3 months ago. Today my truck was throwing Brake Malfuncton and would not start. As other posts have noted I removed the LED lights and reinstalled OEM and replaced the fuse, truck started right up.

Tried to get a refund from Extreme Terrain. Their response "tough its been more than 30 days" Never buying a thing from them again. I was planning to spend that $300 on a better set of taillights but instead I will buy elsewhere from now on.

Just letting others know to be aware they don't stand behind the products they sell.

Did their stated return policy say (in writing) up to 30 days? If so, then what are you complaining about?

Did you try to contact the manufacturer?
Their site explicitly states 30 days multiple times.

That sucks, but the real problem is buying junky cheap ass tail lights and expecting them to last.

I love how a 30 day no return policy is a get out of jail free card to sell shitty products. For the most part, if a company has that little faith in their products right out of the gate and has that stated all over, I’m probably not going to buy from them in the first place.

What length of time would be appropriate? 1 year, 10 years, lifetime? Nothing lasts forever. It's on each individual to research the product they are buying including reviews and return policies. It sucks that it happened to OP but there are no victims, only volunteers.

Depends on the product. Something electronic in nature should be more than 30 days to account for infant mortality. Some companies do 90 days no questions asked on items far more complicated than a couple of leds, so I’d expect at least that, but a year sounds pretty good. 30 is barely enough to get it out of the box and test it.

And I’m not excusing the op here, if you buy something with a within 30 days or pound sand policy, that’s on you.

Not bashing just giving my experience so others know what they getting into when purchasing from them. I have bought before this as well and had no issues. How you treat customers tells when bad things happen tell me all I need to know about how much they truly care about their customers.

Lol you posted to see if everyone was as outraged as you. They weren't. Most members pay attention and if the product I was buying only had a 30 day warranty? I would have zero expectations of that product.

The product has almost all 5 star reviews. Interestling enough my 1 star review does not appear on their site. hmmmm
Regardless of what the stated return policy is I would expect a company to step up and take some ownership of a product that failed within 90 days rendering a vehicle inoperable. I have dealt with many companies outside of a return policy that have done the right thing to keep the customer happy. I wasn't asking for anything more than credit to buy a better product that I would have spent more money with them on and would have had a great story to tell others about why they should use ET. Some companies care more about the bottom line than they do about their customers.

Dude, you bought shitty tail lights with a very plain limited warranty. You got pissed when they wouldn't do anything even though you were 3X past their plainly stated warranty.
What message would like to convey to the thousands of people?
    1. Research the product and company before buying.
    2. Check warranty length before buying.

Wait...what? A company tells you, beforehand and before buying what the terms are.
You buy it and expect them to change the rules just for you? Really?

I guess you expect the bank to accept your house payment late with no penalty?
The cable company to keep your internet on even though you don't pay the bill?
    Give me a break man.
