    I dont bear hunting anymore(its a young mans game or a dog owner)but I believe my bud has treed. he will pull the dogs and let it go for another day,he doesnt even carry a gun unless he would have his pistol on. i do love to hear the hounds run.E8A36831-BB62-4655-9735-611CFF43F5D9.jpg

    I had the same situation this morning only have a doe tag left and the only deer I saw was a 3yr old 8point :frusty:

    he was on the run through some pines down the hill. He picked out a spot he was anticipating him to come through to get an open shot. He came through that spot…just differently than he had anticipated. Hit him on the run a little high. Lol.

    Pretty sure this is the buck I passed on opening day for safety reasons (houses beyond deer). Younger Amish guy jumped it about 50 yards from my bow hunting ground blind this morning across the property line. Bigger body and decent rack - would have been my biggest with a pistol if I had gotten it. I saw Jonas, but never saw the buck. He is also the guy who bumped it on the opener, so he deserved it.

    My nephew popped a coyote this morning and the only buck I had on camera I wanted shot this year. Wound up being an 8 point short eye guard on the right side and doubles on the left. Not bad for his first buck. I was about 500 yards from him and got to watch the deer walk all the way within about 25 yards from him before he got a shot. He was hugging the treeline and didn't give him an opening until he could spit on him lol IMG_20221217_190821.jpg

    youngest son had this one at 80yds tonite hanging with a doe. he was in tall grass n brush so he didnt shoot. but theyve seen him couple times this past week. pushing on the does that are there.maybe another day,funny thing is i can hunt there but stay out even though i have days off this week. would rather see them get him:thumbsup:.     I assume he must have been walking away or that for some reason he turned his head the wrong way on the "meeeeh" and he was going for a neck shot lol

    Went and sat in a tree this evening. No good shots but still had a ball took a guy I used to work with. @dewayne youll like this. He told me they extended our season. We can shoot anything until the first Saturday in January like usual but then it’s extended to mid MARCH for antlerless only. I won’t hunt that long too much risk killing bucks that have dropped already but better opportunity to fill freezer. Limit is 2 per day
