Also, water seems to coming up into that weather stripping where it meets the trim. When I push on trim water comes up where that weather strip is I have it in red circle

Did you pay to have the wind shield replaced or was it a friend ?

Take it back and tell them it leaks.

My fix was silicone on the outside of the wind shield it worked for me.

I bought truck that had crack in it then had my insurance replace it.

The guy installing it was on his phone the whole time talking to friends smh.

Do you think insurance will pay for another or will I have to shell out the money this time

If the insurance pays that is between you and your agent.

Most likely your dime to pull and replace for a leak.

But insurance was the one that sent that certain company and they messed it up

    maybe I can argue that?

Fan intake is on that side behind the glove box. It’s a common issue for rain water to get in there. Floor mats can act as drip catches but the real problem is the cowling between the hood and windshield.

It could also be the hvac box sweating from using either the ac or defrost. You’ll have to determine whether it’s dripping from sweating or from leaking. It’s a lot easier to see if you open the glove box, disconnect the damper on the right side, and lower the glove box to remove it from the hinges. The cabin air filter is back there so you need to know this anyway. Some have claimed to have fixes but there’s plenty’s of threads on the topic so this will be a good opportunity to get to know the search function.

    Ok got it.

I was once told my 2002 doesn’t have a cabin air filter… maybe I misheard

what happens if I ignore issue? It doesn’t rain much in CA and is sunny 8-9 months of the year

My bad, didn’t catch the first gen reference. Rust is what happens when metal gets wet and stays that way. Even here in California but it fortunately takes a little longer. Mold is a much more serious problem though with health consequences if it persists. There are threads about this topic in the first gen section as well as 2nd and 3rd gens. You’ll have to look them over. I’ve seen the threads pop up occasionally but don’t have any links handy. The search function does work here though.

Right in front of seat yes.

Seems to be the most damp part.

lifted rest of carpet and water was there too but that’s the most damp part

How does the weather seal on that door look? Is it deformed or anything?

sorry to also ask the obvious questions but was the door closed all the way or window slightly open while it rained? Or through the car wash?

I can send a pic in a bit about how the weather stripping looks.

yes always closed. I have a habit of checking everything closed before leaving truck.

should I be worried about mold???

If the seal looks normal it’s probably not the problem. Does your truck happen to have a sunroof?

if not I would definitely be suspecting the windshield and reaching out to your insurance company.

As far as mold, I would definitely have an ozone treatment done once the problem is fixed

    Ya I’m thinking windshield too.
    Gonna call insurance Monday.
My carpet is all jacked up too now. Has so many stains in it. Gonna see if I can haggle for them to pay for new carpet too
