Good news is that following that thread is going to give you incredible lighting power, especially with high beams. The high power halogens will also incinerate snow, which is important where you are at. You can also push output to even more extreme levels than shown in that thread with an AGM and voltage booster, and in those extreme conditions I'd want an AGM anyway.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-northstar-agm-battery-voltage-booster-upgrade.604478/

I've actually got a custom length optimized harness for my 1st Gen that should be in next week to perform that very upgrade. Should my measurements all pan out as planned, I plan to post the adjusted lengths or work with Headlight Services to offer a very tailored 1st Gen harness. I've already got the AGM and voltage booster. Output is going to be incredible. I'll post it in my 1st Gen build thread and the headlight thread.

Thanks for the lighting heads up guys. Im not as concerned with oem stuff as some but i appreciate that its usually always better quality. Likely i wont put as much money into high quality parts as u guys but ive got so many irons in the fire already. Also the likely hood of me smashing a headlight housing is fairly high...so im happy with the chiner stuff. All the info in the links posted is very much appreciated...again with too many irons in the fire i just simply dont have time to r and d this sort of thing....glad guys like u are around to put the effort in...not to mention the technical ability.

    Anyone have any ideas here?

This is what they are supposed to look like.

Anyone have a clue what I'm missing here?

The pic (with the Kings) is JD Fab web page.

The 2 pics above that are what I got from JD Fab.

in the pic with the shocks installed, it looks like the top plate is horizontal, and the pic of the parts you show are vertical. Unless I'm blind and can't see. I'm sure someone with waaayyyy more experience than myself will chime in. But your parts don't look right when compared with the installed shocks photo.

Theres no perpendicular tube where the triangular plate meets the spring pocket...it should be attached to that and facing down.

Ya, I'm wondering if someone else has these hoops that can tell me if there was a design change and I'm missing something (in which case I can fabricate it) or, if this is just the completely wrong hoops.

Look at the pics again, id say somebody was smokin too many doobies the day they made those hoops and took those pics. Theres a whole piece missing in the top 2 pics. Not trying to be rude.
Edit- i see now the top 2 pics are ur pics of what they sent u. Either way there is a piece missing between horizontal tube and the plate.

My guess is unless somebody screwed up those could be for another model where it mounts to the side of the pocket?

Since completing the conversion, I've been searching for a solution to the 4WD 1st Gen mud flaps since they are now next to impossible to find 'new'. Discontinued and essentially gone forever.

Asked the wife and her cricut machine to cut some replacement 4WD decals for my PreRunner mudflaps. Just needed the exact dimensions. I had picked up the 4WD mud flaps from @drr's partout truck with the intention of scanning them and working the image to come up with a solid template. Problem was that 20 year old paint didn't like being cleaned up and there were enough imperfections to muck up the scan I attempted. Cue a quick search of TW and I come across @CrustyTaco and his work a couple of years back trying to come up with a 3D template for painting. I reached out to him and he was very cool to send over what he came up with. The scans he made were really close. A little tweaking and some permanent reflective vinyl and the wife churned out replacements.

    4WD flaps from a 2002 after cleaning -

    upload_2022-12-17_23-35-56.jpg

Gave them a quick rattle-can cover of trim/bumper paint along with new reflective perm vinyl decals.

Also gave my PreRunner mud flaps a fresh retouch with the rattle can and applied the decals to them. Came out better since they didn't have the indentation around the letters like the 4WD stock flaps have.

    Really pleased with the results.

Nice! I came across some decals on eBay and went that route as well. A good move for others out there trying to get a newer looking mudflap. It's really difficult to tell that it's actually a decal and not paint.
