YMMV = your mileage may vary. All good. Those "guards" are just that and don't provide a whole lot of protection. They do provide some minimal protection for small impacts, but are mostly for looks. They have the nickname "damage multipliers" for a reason. If you clip an animal on the side of your rig, one of those "guards" are going to take out a fender, headlight, bumper etc all at once. Without the "guard", you stand a chance of limiting damage to individual components.

    Thanks!

I do take your input into consideration.

My hope is, (as should everyone's) that we don't get in an impact accident.

We have to deal with it when it happens...

Like when some lady decided to drive the suicide lane and not stop in time to avoid hitting my 200K+ mile 2003 Pilot on Oct 3, 2018.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
You're half way to a steel frame mounted bumper, not an oversized damage multiplying bull bar. I got rid of mine for a reason.

And if you're thinking about a winch, the bull bar simply isn't built to handle one.

That would take a bit more suspension than I have. What's the approach angle on that?

Well, I like my brush guard. In the case of this individual after a major impact it keeps the headlights from falling out0548B799-FD76-49C4-AE43-5AB766ADC442.jpg

    Yeah,

those bumpers aren't equipped to handle a wench! lol

I'm not considering any more weight than needed for my Sport.

I still want a DiamondBack Tonneau cover to go with my larger wheel/tires I anticipate buying next year.

My truck already has weight with the HDX steps, TRD Skid, & Talon CAT Plate. Swapping out the HDX steps with less weight is on the horizon.

There's plenty to take into consideration...

Tacoma driver's sure crash into a lot of shit. I know this is a Tacoma site, and their are a lot of Tacomas on the road, but I sure have seen a lot of dash cam videos of Tacomas smacking right into things. Not assigning fault, just saying.

I haven't even looked at the linked thread as of late. lol

    Larger wheels and tires?

I'd get something in bronze like SCS Blaze10s, or FN OverlandSpec B the ones with out the rings. Either of those would look good under the Bushwacker flairs.

I'm liking the looks of this set up...maybe not 6" lift but 3".

Not that I need to spend money on wheels for my truck. I could use some more street friendly tires. I was looking at these Raceline Aero wheels. I saw a new Frontier with the machined finish that looked pretty good.

It's Saturday that's as good a reason as any!

For some reason I'm thinking the bronze wheel KO2s white letters out and the black center caps would look real good.

The Frontier that had them was a gray King Cab. I presume that's what they were the truck was moving, and there isn't a ton of options for the Nissan bolt pattern.

I had the factory $70 optional 14” spoked wagon wheels on my ‘84 KC. Those 952MC’s would be a sweet upgrade, for sure

    Brand new.
They are intended for destruction. And better connected to the vehicle too rather the. Just two tiny frame mounts.

I almost bought a black ACLB but I couldn't stop looking at the Inferno I have. I would debadge and black that out. Satin black wheels with some 33's. Splash of color with the tailgate letters.
