Bundling up and layering is something you can do there.

You don't bundle up in regular jackets or something when welding; it is my fault for not having 'layers' for working on stuff though.

As in the steering knuckles are higher up so more clearance than say stock. I could be wrong. I know enough but still always learning and listening.

technically with my 3 link truck part of the kit is the "FJ80 high steer kit".

I think because you keep saying FJ80 I'm assuming you're running stock 80 series parts on your axles.

I should say, the tie rods are in good condition, nothing is wrong. Just noisy. Gonna put grease but thinking of what ill end up replacing with.

Just so happens I have a TG axle with high steer in my possession right now, but it was converted to heim steering. The other mini axle we have is using 80 series outers and it isn't in the least bit loud or gritty, but it has fresh 555 rod ends on it. Stock 80 series isnt high steer, it's a weird behind the axle drag link mounted low.

My cars sleep in 60* comfort when it's well below freezing outside. Garage heaters are where it's at.

Took my girl out for a ride in the AMG. Needed to run to the pet store and what better way to pick out Xmas gifts than letting her pick them herself.

the weird thing is like two piece yeah? I think I know what your talking about. Good question for you, if your are near the 555 rod ends can you see if there is a hole for the zerk nips, I was told they have the insert ready. Heim steering is not where I want to go just new and fresh rod ends eventually.

I won a G29 steering wheel at a party the other week. Got the frame in today.

Anyone have a favorite racing sim (PS4)? I've just been playing NFS so far..

Here's one I had sitting on the shelf. No provisions for grease that I see.

    +1 on what Zane said.

Previous owner put new 555 TRE and no zerks on those.

Only thing noisy is my power steering pump, but that's cause I leak fluid and constantly refill it every 3-4 months.

Hmmm thank you for inspecting, kinda bullshit I read that 555 makes em with a hole ready for a zerk, I will do m ore research.

Noisey suspension and steering is a huge pet peeve for me so its becoming me being anal about it at this point.

    Would bug me too.

But have to remember, it's not a stock setup so really it all comes down to the fabricator that did the work on your truck. Don't expect perfection.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not smart enough to figure out the geometry to do a solid axle swap...but other people try it anyway :bananadead:

[insert shitty leaf spring, front solid axle swapped setup that's 8" tall]

The guy who built it is solid, This truck before the makeover was taken to all the hardcore spots on my island before the P/O changed everything to look good. the guy/shop who last worked on it has a 2uz v8 swapped tacoma on 40's and tons. So I do trust the work. The truck is high ill be the first to admit higher than it needs to be but alas hawaii style brah. Truck does drive like a stock truck, if not better ride quality wise.

Good to hear, and glad you're enjoying it!

I only ever saw the same pic posted twice, so not familiar with it really.

    Just remember it had coilovers.

The janky POS trucks here still want $10k for their rigs, with "minor work to be finished":rofl::rofl:

Then you'll see one nicely done up truck that's listed for $35k
