Debit card's aren't a secure payment method. You're better off using a credit card and paying it off monthly unless you've got a zero apr card. The rewards (cash back and points) make it a no brainer too. Paying in cash? With inflation who has any cash these days? A small amount for emergencies I suppose. :notsure:

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
At this time All I have is cash or a debit card. Till I sell enough to pay off my one credit card.

I Guess your saying it would be better to run to the bank and withdraw cash in person??

a debit card is pretty much the same as an ATM card.

When you use a debit card it's always possible for someone to steal or hack your checking account info and potentially drain your checking account. I had a banker tell me this after having first hand experience. It was a mess to clean up.

I would like a credit card for online purchases...echoing the insecurities of a debit. Wouldnt be a bad idea to develope Alaska airline miles too...

    Never had a debit card.

I heard people at the job all the time going on about cards getting locked (always on holiday weekends it seemed) or a creditor taking more than expected from an account or needing to set up a new card for whatever reason and taking days... No thank you.

I will use the CC money for a month and get the rewards points too.

Funny how when I returned to Pa back in 1977 in January from the Mountain West I worked outside in a tee shirt .

On those sunny 20 Degree days

Most get acclimated and i think ur chemistry might change a little lol. My nose and cheeks dont freeze down anymore. My fingers still freeze but dont hurt as bad anymore. However my joints hurt more now, my hands, shoulders and hips. My first year up here i grabbed the gate bare handed at about 40 below..that was fun. It only stuck for a second but flash burned my sweaty palm a little.

Another reason to use a CC vs a debit card: when your card inevitably gets hacked, Mastercard/the bank is out the money, not you. As such, they are generally MUCH quicker to act/respond on a credit card and reimbursements vs a debit card where they're reimbursing you.

I use my nose hair to tell the temp lol anything below 0° and it will freeze the hair and snot...also it seems ur nose will stop runnind at around zero. The worst is forgetting ur goggles at ur last set at 30 below..the tears will freeze to ur cheeks sometimes, gotta ride slow and hope u didnt run them over when u left the first time.

In one of my readings, it suggested using petroleum lubricant on the rings to help. Not sure it would or wouldn’t as I’m not sure how that works in subzero.

I have always gone in to deal with paychecks or any check really. Some goes in checking, some to savings and the rest cash...a lot of my purchases are cash(garage/estate sales, cars/trucks, auctions etc gotta be ready with cash) when i bought the sharpening set up it was over the phone..and i cert mailed him a cashiers check...pain in the ass but was the only way i felt safe..he wouldnt take my debit over the phone anyways.

I remember that from when I was a kid. Seems weird to say I miss it, but the Maine winters ain’t what they used to be. I plowed the driveway today in a sweatshirt, and yesterday was outside in a tshirt during a snowstorm. I could stand it being a few degrees colder.

Out of desperation and frustration i squirted the minivan ones with pb silicone lol....seemed to help a little. I believe the book for the van says to put them in dry.. but squirting them isnt something im real worried about, the van is what we call a beater with a heater.
