sorry, got stuck on the edge of a black hole for a while. i'm stuck 20 years ahead of where i should be living.

but i'm really only here because my first hard rule with vehicles is that the oem radio must be able to be removed without effecting any other vehicle systems.

in their brilliancy, they lacked the forethought to think of who it alienates. for every action...

the only reason i considered buying things from them in the first place was because they're one of the few places that will still send out a paper catalogue.

I actually completely agree with you on this one. My daily is a 95 Corolla and my truck is an 07. Not much interest in the stuff they are putting out now.

What the hell happened in this thread.

Someone buys accessory for Tacoma. Accessory is shit. Posts warning on a Tacoma forum.

Response: stop whining / complaining / blah blah.

Is this the company's tech support showing up on the forum to do pr?

Complaining about a shitty product and bashing a vendor are two separate issues. 30 days is standard for vendors. Any more than that is just bad business practice since it isn’t THEIR product. He should contact the manufacturer.

I purchased $2k in parts, they never sent me a tracking number.

I finally got a person on the phone after calling every day for a few weeks. She told me that my parts were not in stock, because they don't actually have a warehouse.

The website said that the parts were in stock, obviously, thats why i made the purchase.

It took 3 weeks to get my money back.

It was about 6 weeks from when i ordered, until i got a refund.

You wouldn’t happen to have purchased it with a credit card would you? Some have extended warrantees built-in but that could make it double the fun getting a refund!

I recommend not buying anything from them. They don't know anything about parts, they are just a third party seller with no inventory

Wow i see it was easy to trigger even more people about my experience. Feel free to buy things from whomever you decide. My money will go to companies who care about their customers happiness and stand behind the products they sell.

A big thank you to everyone keeping this post alive so others who never sign up for these forums and are doing research may see this. If I prevent 1 person from using Extreme Terrain I have earned my money back.

It's actually a bit more nuanced than that. For example, if you go on Spyder's web site, their warranty is to the retailer, not to the end user.

Extreme Terrain's warranty is 30 days but offers 1/2/3-year extended warranties at extra cost. https://www.extremeterrain.com/warranty.html So this is a case of @HeyBlinkin not paying for a longer warranty and now getting shafted because of it.

FWIW I have bought a few things from them including a few "open box" pieces with no problems. As a tool to research parts, read the reviews, and watch installation videos, they do a decent job.

The OP's post reminds me of a TW user a few years ago that lost his shit when he failed his state vehicle inspection and blamed Softopper. The Softopper blocks the third brake light and the fabric takes two minutes to remove.

I did everything you said. Reviews are almost all 5 stars and watched their install video. The issue is 100% a short in the tail lights which rendered the truck inoperable. Reinstalling the OEM lights fixed the issue. If a company is proud enough to do install vids on these then they should be proud enough to do the right thing when a serious safety problem is brought to their attention. Their solution was to try and have the manufacturer send me a new set. Nobody in this forum would trust putting in a new set of anything that caused this sort of problem.

100% learned my lesson on buying cheaper products. Also learned my lesson that Extreme Terrain is a garbage company that could care a less about their customers.
