Cool truck. I’d rather have a Rivian though. But not at those prices…
I knew a guy who had an old Lightning. I think a tree jumped out in front of it.

I had a certain 1983 song about an elderly in-law getting hit by a flying reindeer blasting in the truck when I took this picture, and a woman thought that Peddler's Village was playing the song...

I have a mechanic at work that has one. Stroked and built. Damn thing sounds like a NASCAR motor. He does a lot of circle track racing and goes a little over the top for his dailies.

I'm guessing it's probably straight-piped and wouldn't pass an emissions test?

    It has mufflers….

We don’t emission test gasoline vehicles in this county…just diesels. In fact I get to dyno my truck tomorrow for the emissions test and then go spend another 389.00 on plates for another year.

I’m a bit jaded by CA, but $389 ain’t all that bad. I think CA wanted $650 for my Taco before I left.

I thought that OBD2 vehicles didn't have to get dyno-tested...? In Pennsylvania, all diesel vehicles are exempt from emissions testing, and all gasoline-powered trucks over a certain GVW are exempt as well. Emissions is required for gas-powered vehicles 1975-present in like 25 of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, and safety inspection is required statewide for all vehicles not registered as antiques.

It's like $140 to register my truck for two years; California SUCKS!

It certainly is. He has a few other toys they enjoy (Shelby Mustang and F350…think it’s a 2020).

In Denver, every vehicle hits the rollers for an emissions test. I’m willing to bet in the next few years all vehicles in Colorado Springs will be like Denver. Last few air quality tests barely passed.

I would flush the radiator fluid and ensure the motor isn’t air locked.

Your overflow tank should raise when hot and lower when cooling down.

It's going to have to wait until after Christmas. The heater works great and the engine shows no signs of any issues whatsoever. Could air lock damage the engine?

    @ColoradoTJ

I am fucking pissed now; I just checked my truck's Carfax status, and somebody fudged when inputting the service history two days ago...

My truck had 157,280 miles when it went in for what I thought was a blown head gasket in September, and it had over 158K when it went in for the actual head gasket repair in October. It went in this past Friday for the U-joint replacement and oil change, and it had 160,500 miles on it. The dealer's head gasket job hasn't come through yet. If and when that record is added, it will show my truck as having 158K in October and 157,300 in December, which will trigger an "odometer discrepancy" flag on the Carfax report!

What the hell do I do?!?!

Are there vent ports on the block for the coolant fill? I don’t know anything about the 2.7L.

    Callcar fax?

I’ve seen this enough times that I don’t put a lot of faith in carfax.
If the mileage discrepancy was large, maybe?

If, when, I sell my truck, and there is a discrepancy.
I don’t really care, I know the mileage.
The buyer can either believe me, or not buy the truck.

I had this happen on my tundra. You will need to contact carfax and have it resolved. Mine was easy since the mileage was off by a lot.
