    The blue angles aircraft at the end of the video is proof of it. No sonic boom but he still has a vapor cone.

    Some of the air coming off different parts is going different speeds. The white part is supersonic air meaning he is really close to breaking the sound barrier. The second that white cloud passes the back of the plane means he is supersonic and your ears are about to get blown up.

    If you want a real low fly by, Go live in the dorms at Langley, I think the F22 Pilots get as close as they can first thing in the mornings. It sounds like they are on the floor above you.

    Lots.
    That's what I thought too at first but it actually a combination between the density, humidity, and temperature of the air off the surfaces of the plane. The "cloud" can happen at any speed from roughly .8 to 1.2 mach.

    All these are result of air speed. The friction of mach air traveling past stationary air heats up the air in the cone. Hot air equals light air which equals air that can hold less moisture. It is basicaly like cavitation of a ships prop just in the air.

    fwiw , Portland int. airport , on fridays, you can often catch F-15s taking off and goin vertical..... and lots of pullouts with close views if they take off to the west.

    FWIW ... I watch the C-5s, C-17s, C-130s, C-141s, F-4s, F-15s, F-16s, F-18s and even the F-22s come in super low (across Hwy 41 - end of runway) at Dobbins AFB/Locheed Martin combo base in Marietta, GA. One of the best places in the US to watch an air show there (runway's end at Hwy 41).

    It looks like to can reach up and touch "Air Force One" when it comes in too.
