They are the same lug pattern, but I don't know about center bore. What steel wheels do you have? If they're OEM Toyota and have the notches for center caps, you have some options.

Oh. Never thought about the center bore. My idea was just to use the GM style center.

I have OEM Toyota rims. I believe they are the same as the spare tire rim so no notches.

Oh okay. Without the notches I don’t have a great answer for centers. I’m curious what you might be able to get to work.

Stock 14’s. Trying to get away from a 14”. Tires are impossible to find around here.

15-inch may be a consideration. Plenty of steel options in 5-114.3 and 205/70R-15 may be easier for you to source locally.

Thanks for the info. I do like the 17” steelies from a FJ but they’re 6 lug. Seems everything I like is either 5x5 or 6 lug.

Dont have a pic of them on the truck yet. Original 15" steelies that the PO painted dark grey. Picked up a set of barely used LT235/75r15 Laufenn triple peak rated tires at the wreckers.

Done for now. not sure whether to save for re-gear or just get it tuned.

Looks good! Mine drove like a new truck after the tune.

Unless you went up several tire sizes or made any drastic changes I think a tune would be all you need.

    Hi all,

I am looking at purchasing some 17" steel wheels for my 3rd gen SR. I see Toyota sells (at least) two similar versions, is the only difference the rim width? Do they both accept the FJ center caps? I will be running 235 / 245 width tires.

    1) #4261135330 - fits FJ cruiser 17x7.5
    2) #4261135400 - fits 4runner 17x7

How well does the factory powder coat hold up?

    Thanks!

Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
So today I had a blowout and had to throw on my spare and was like “damn girl, look at you!” Was way stoked on the look. I know a lot of you are running the old FJ’s but is there an oem 16 inch that Toyota still makes that looks like the spare… or can I use a set of the spare rims? To my knowledge, the only 16-inch OEM steel wheel with the circular hole pattern for the Tacoma is the OEM spare steel wheel, with the oval slot (Toyota P/N: 42601-AD030). The spare steel wheel is a full size spare and so it's perfectly okay to use full time, which many people do (i.e. some run their alloys during the summer with all-seasons and a separate steelie set in the winter with snow tires). If you wanted to bump up to a 17-inch OEM steel wheel, the most popular option is the Toyota FJ ones (Toyota P/N: 42611-35330).

    **I'm not 100% that that's the P/N for the 16-inch steel wheel, but I think that's it.
***Just know that you'll also have to get a set of acorn style lug nuts for the steel wheels, as they have a conical seat where the alloys have a flat seat.

Correct part # for OEM 16-inch steel spare. @TuesdayTaco76 I quoted your comment in the 'what' thread.

Yup. If you dig through this thread I think there's some in it that do just that. There was a pair of them for free in the classifieds on this site the other day.
