Thanks man, here are a couple from a while back. Imo the lowered trucks really look better with a nice set of wheels. I’m still saving my pennies for those though lol

Got a gas lens setup and #12 cup per @Torspd ‘s recommendation and tried it out yesterday. Night and day difference in weld quality. Should have done this a long time ago. Here are a few pics from the first weld i laid down with it. Definitely need a big cup for stainless, makes things way easier. This was on 16 gauge tubing for reference

Minor build update, finally got around to painting and clear coating the AWD badge I got for the truck. Started out as chrome, hit it with two coats of adhesion promoter, three coats base coat, and three coats of clear. In an effort to keep the badging in the Toyota family, this came from an AWD Toyota RAV4.

I installed it on the truck today and put it in the same area as the V6 badge used to be.

Swapping back to 3.73s today so I can use the 4.10s out of this truck on my PreRunner for the AWD conversion. About to lift the front back into place and then it’s onto the rear. It’s my first time pulling CV’s so I’ve been taking it slow but it’s been pretty easy going so far.

You've got some serious multitasking between two trucks and choosing the choice bits between them Hahaha!

I get tired just watching what you're up to

It's all completely awesome by the way!

PreRunner is going to love the 4:10's. The 2TR is now going to load up that turbo. :D

Lol thanks man! It was a bit of a battle getting that front diff back in so im saving the back for tomorrow. Hopefully that’ll go quicker and I’ll have enough steam to throw the rear 4.10s in the other truck too

I was wondering if that’d help with how fast it spools. Mike’s truck felt great on 33s and 4.10s so im hoping the 34s ive got don’t make it a dog. It has definitely needed a little less gear, it’ll be nice not to use 5th as much

Axles were hanging up while trying to remove it, but finally got it out with an extra set of hands. Time for cleanup and reassembly. This is a used housing/gears with all new Yukon bearings, solid pinion spacer, Detroit TrueTrac LSD, and an OEM pinion seal. Filled up the rear with 80w-90 & some 85w-140 I had on hand. The front diff got all 80w-90.

All finished up on the regear. Also started tearing down for the PreRunner so I can hopefully get that knocked out quickly tomorrow, but I ran out of steam. Took the v6 for a quick drive and it turns about 2600rpm at 75mph now. It was at about 3k at 75mph with the 4.10s previously

here’s a comparison of the two trucks with the new gears, and the rpms they will turn at hwy speeds. This is with 30.5” tires on the v6 and 33.8” tires on the 2.7L. Pretty close overall, especially in 5th gear & 4th gear (1:1 on both trucks)

So they have similar rpms per speed, but do the feel similar, when driven?

They feel pretty similar but the 4 cylinder seems to require a bit more throttle input or a downshift vs before. The drivability is still way better than i was expecting with the larger tires and stock gears. I have driven the 4 cylinder with stock gears and 33s, and 5th gear was absolutely unusable and drivability was way worse. I am very happy with how it performs now, and it's looking like gas mileage may increase a bit as well, so that's a bonus. It does feel like the 4 cylinder is getting put under more load now during regular driving conditions, which is to be expected.

A worthy trade off for the engine to have a little more load, for what you gain in cruising, I say.

i'd say so as well. The truck used to get worse mileage on the hwy vs around town. I expect that to flip back around now

Yeah i noticed this while passing someone the other day. I got all the way around them and said to myself wow i'm still in 3rd lol. It's definitely less violent on the acceleration now, but i am loving it so far. That being said, it would be a complete turd if it was N/A still.
