    :notsure:

T'was easier than getting frustrated with the heat shield bolts on the five Tacos that I did it on.

I must have had magical luck. All of my pain was in removal, not reassembly. It was not too bad on any of it, just a slow process.

I did not remove the exhaust bracket and I did put back the top bolt no problem. No issues using my ratchet box wrench and a 1/4” ratchet.

Same here, I had no really trouble with it. Just getting my hand up there to get the bolt started. But after 3 tries and the bolting landing on my nose once I got it and tightening wasn't a problem with a swivel head ratcheting wrench.

I ended up having the same problem haha. These were suggestions I got for the upper bolt but haven't gotten around to trying them yet.

There have been a few folks in this thread that said that they didn't feel the ADM. It think one or two folks felt it later on after some similar drives. Just human variability.

I suppose my question would be for @Firn 's disk, did you put the milled face toward the ports and the flat face toward the backing plate?

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't notice a difference.

Quick question (or two), when you operate the clutch would you consider that you move your left foot fast, or slow? If you move the clutch slowly and deliberately it may be that there is a minimum speed to fully cause the factory accumulator to have an effect. Conversely, if you operate the clutch "fast" perhaps the disk doesn't expose the port enough. Not saying either is right or wrong, just that everyone drives a clutch a bit different so I'm trying to get a sense of how you think you operate the clutch.
Second question, do you live in a cold climate or is it cold now?

    no worries!

id say more in the middle of slow and fast. wanted it for the slow crawling wheeling that I do

its been colder laity I'm in WA state. maybe it will have a greater affect during summer wheeling

I've never noticed a difference with temps and only felt the slow pedal once. Last year when we had that cold snap where it was 20F leaving work.

Other than feeling it during typical shifts, it is most noticeable when rev matching between bigger RPM differences. Like 3 - 2 or 2 - 1.

Gotcha, might have to wait for it to warm up and see if there is any difference

If my theory on how the accumulator works is true then its possible that in cooler temps that the brake fluid is so viscus that the disk isn't fully effective.

I will say that my personal truck hasn't been as smooth as I want and it could be the accumulator/disk, I really think its the f-ing terrible throttle response and engine tuning (I have had 2-strokes with fouled plugs run smoother), but it could be the cold weather causing the viscosity to be higher and as a result the disk not being as effective as possible. I have a can of Low Viscosity brake fluid to test, I just need to change it out.

@FlatbedTaco , I'll change the fluid and see if I notice a difference. Thanks for the info!

yea with the factory set up when snow wheeling in the Teen temps the clutch is horrible. let me know how the fluid change goes might have to do that as well

Unfortunately, the ADM and a tune work hand in hand. Smoother operation with more consistency and torque. Sad that Toyota didn't deliver from the factory.

I cannot believe how absolutely terrible the tune is on this engine.

We also have a highlander and I have no issue with the 3.5 in that, but the Tacoma is totally different. Its always bucking and (almost) missing, flat on the throttle, and sluggish. Of course over 3600 that gets a LOT better, but then the throttle hangs so bad it makes shifting frustrating.
