No one builds a k for na power but stock you can throw 5 to 600 at them with no problem if you have a decent sized turbo. That's not expensive to do. It's expensive to build the 2gr to hold anything over what it's capable of na. This is another area of the Toyota tax supplies and it's just not worth paying for that engine to have any more than it's na power which is middling at best

You don’t have to build the GR for boost though? Multiple ones completely unopened with over 700hp to the wheels. Unopened 2grs with just tune and exhaust do 300 wheel with that wonderful torque.

You don't have to with the k either until about 650hp. But if you do it can be 1500+ capable

The GR should be fine to well over 1500hp if you dump K series money into it. Building a K is far from cheap.

Putting a 2gr in anything is expensive too tho, no one wants it so the support for the swap is minimal.

He should drive them all and see. Cars like them go well beyond the specs on paper for what they are like to drive. Both are great platforms so should be a fun space to shop in. I would even say a use Cayman isn't much more money....

    No swap is cheap.
But the swap for my car was like 4,500 including the engine. The mounts are being designed for their 86 swap as we speak.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry's and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

    Oof.

I’m weird. I hate doing the common swap. No LS or K for me. I stick with what I know the best.

I just can’t justify the cost of the K for what you get. The LS I can. The fact the k24 I have to replace at work cost 3 grand simply because it’s a “desirable” version of the engine is stupid. Toyota? One version. No weird combinations of heads or anything needed

K24 isn't desirable, you're just overpaying. The K20 is the one you want.

The going rate for w/e the hell it is is up there. Junkyard wise. Is it desireable? No clue. All the K engines are grossly overpriced for something that’s just going to burn oil like a sieve. This is the 3rd one we’re putting in this accord for oil burning issues

I mean, putting 40-80k of rigs on a trailer that looks like it was a DIY jobber sold off FB market for $2500 was definitely not a money move. Buying cheap shit is expensive. That's one fuck up I've made so many times now hahaha

A VR6 rwd setup would be really fun in a Miata or BRZ i think

My mom bought a "built" NA Miata and complains non stop about the power and part of me is like "lemme borrow it for a year I can fix that"
