I'm giving serious thought to sell off my 2003 once the winter is over. Getting it inspected this week. I'll probably upgrade to hopefully something in a 3rd gen. Are we still getting rusted frames in ones under 7 years old?

Anybody remember the house that was hit by a box truck last month? They managed to extract the truck without causing the house to collapse, though I would imagine it is still getting torn down due to the severe damage. The house is probably over 70 years old and it has been vacant for over a decade. It is owned by the US government and located at the old Navy base in Horsham, directly across from Chapman Ford on Easton Road...

There are three four houses that were on the land purchased by the Navy in the 1940s, and the other ones look newer. All of them have the exact same builder grade 1990s York A/C units though, since they were probably retrofitted with central A/C at the same time...

Saw that last week when I was passing by.

That home has a date with a wrecking ball.

it’s unfortunate, there’s a bunch of unoccupied homes on the old base that are simply rotting away.
Not much can be done considering all of the soil pollution from the former military base. The remediation project is ongoing.

There’s an older farmhouse on the base property, it’s in the southernmost corner. I doubt it’s occupied. Would be a really awesome homestead if not for the pollution.

We think the old farmhouse on our property dates back to the late 1800s. As were doing the reno of the bathroom my in-laws added we are moving the entryway into the master bedroom. As that's being done we decided to re-do the bedroom and strip the old wallpaper and skim coat/paint the walls. The contractors took out the existing windo since it falls in the new doorway opening - so we had to expose the original outer wall.

Talk about well-insulated.:D:rofl:. 1" board exterior covered by 1/4" wood siding. Interior plaster and lath skim coated with plaster. Balmy.

Plaster and pine lath would point towards 100yrs old. Still removing that from my place.

My house was originally the barn for our landlords /neighbors house. It was converted into a house back in the 1850's and the addition (living room and half-slant roof upstairs back room / kids bedroom was added in 1921). Not much insulation in this place, especially in the addition. Hopefully this spring the addition will get torn down and widened to the full width of the house (actually four feet wider) to make the living room larger and make two full size bedrooms upstairs for my sons.

Our house is a converted stone barn. The front wall and roof was replaced with styrofoam sandwich panels and are well insulated. But the other walls are just stone. Those stone walls are more like temperature storage units than insulators. In the summer they stay cool even when the weather heats up and keep the inside cooler for up to a week in a heat wave. In winter they can be a little on the cool side but they also hold radiated heat from, say, the wood stove.

Looking at the link, you have to convert commie units into American units, so, 300Lpm is 10.6 cfm. Most air tools with any guts are 10-15 cfm, so if you want run the tool for more than 3 seconds, you'll need a storage tank of at least 2-1/2 gal, and that may provide up to 30secs at a clip, but you'll need to have a large diameter tube between the compressor and the tank. More better to use battery powered tools that you can recharge via an inverter.
