This face shield/goggle combination is the most comfortable and least distracting I have ever used and less than $15. The face shield is removable.
    Thanks @tacotoe for recommending it.

I have a nice forney? face sheild i wear now quite frequently. For the record, i did have safety glasses on when the nail attacked. Where we live now, there is a fire/rescue/ambulance station about 5 miles from us but we still practice safety with about everything as we are still an hr from the hospital.

This talk reminds me of a few other incidents....this last summer our back neighbor sank a chainsaw into her leg pretty good i guess. We dont talk and are not neighborly so im not sure of the whole story but she was using a walker for a good bit. No chaps and no real training on her part...they are drunks and the types that know everything yet openly fail in front of everyone...wife calls them "the dingus's"..very fitting for them.
Another time, i worked at a saw shop in oregon and watched a pro logger drop start a big ole saw right into his hip just after id asked him to not drop start on the lot. Poor guy, i couldnt do nothing so i just kicked the saw off him and stepped on him where he was bleading. Stood there til the ambulance got there...medics said that was a smart move? Lol

I dont admit this much(but since we have some humor here)...I usually just wait til it happens to explain myself but....sometimes the site of blood, especially my own will cause me to pass out. So yeah the nose incident i was in and out of consciousness...stepping on the logger i was fine. Cut my finger a little on a jobsite and woke up and passed out a few times..wound up waking up the last time to my uncle on the ground with me sweetly telling me it would be ok lol i bet that was a funny sight. The guys all talked real sweet to me after that...."can i help u sweet heart" " ill catch u when u fall honey"...with 5 uncles my skin is pretty thick.
And if thats funny, needles will cause me to pass out almost every time(oddly im fine with tattoos)..i dread getting shots because of this...

According to the church, it's only sacrilegious if you assume it's going to work.

    Of course I'm paraphrasing.

It may be the higher tolerance of pain that has something to do with it. I can just imagine it going down like this..

"Well I guess I gotta drive myself to the hospital"

"Dude your leg is hanging on by just skin!"

"Meh, I drove the automatic truck today, I'll be aiiight"

Idk what causes it..my childhood doctor said i have a condition similar to narcolepsy. Not sure about that.. Movie stuff doesnt bother me at all nor does hunting, fishing or trapping. Im not affraid of blood nor am i grossed out by it. Its just an embarrassing thing i cant change lol. Imagine me on the battlefield constantly in and out of consciousness....sheesh.

It could be related to pain tolerance but that wouldnt fit my issue totally.. like the burns on my back...it was bloody and gruesome but i didnt pass out...didnt even pass out when they scrubbed the infection and dead flesh off it every week.

I cut my finger on tablesaw many years ago now...i still dont know how or what exactly happened. but the board kicked , bounced off me and hit the wall, i felt pressure on my hand...like hmmm that hurt a little, shake my hand, wheres that blood coming from? Looking down at my stomach area...nope nothing there...look at my hand...hmm guess thats where...slowly walk inside. Call out to my wife..."i think i need to go to hospital"...she runs into the kitchen sees my hand...freaks out...runs to bathroom comes back and starts throwing gauze at me i yell, " calm down im not dying....but you have to take off my wedding ring before it swells too much to get it off". shes freaking out and says she cant do it. :rolleyes:So i take off the ring over the cut digit. Wrap it up and head to hospital.

I almost was going to drive myself if she didnt calm down.:notsure:

For whatever reason I ended up being the first aid guy - despite the fact that I have never had a first aid course in my life... :notsure:

My best "repair" involved a guy who tore a vein in his leg, another employee came running into my office saying "Eric is bleeding bad!"

I found Eric, a good ole boy if there ever was one, on the line calmly dumping blood out of his shoe into a trash box.

I dispatched a worker for some clean cotton rags that were used as wipers and a roll of 3" shrink wrap and commenced to shrink wrap a nice thick cotton pad to his leg.

Loaded him in the daily van and took him to the ER, the doctor complimented my resourcefulness. :humble:

Step dad was a high voltage guy...one day he came home from work and was telling this story about a guy that died after having the blue dragon come out of his head.. i was soo confused then but i guess he caught some very high volts.
