OMG these sliders are driving me nuts!

I took them down to the garage to try to install them again (2nd time) only to realize I needed a couple of different tools. Set everything aside to run to the store and less than 100 yards from my apartment, I'm sliping and sliding all over the road (ice apparently)! So I decided I didn't need the tools THAT bad.

So, I just put everything up again.

I've tried to find someplace else to install them for me, but they're either only open 8-5 and closed on weekends, or they just don't want to do it. I guess the economy isn't all that bad if they're just turning down work...

I think I'm just gonna suck it up and take it back to Midas (again) and have them weld them on. It'll cost me around $200 but damnit, I'm tired of hauling these things around and just want them on!!!

Damn feel bad for you man, I guess might as well go and bite the bullet and spend the money, At least youll have them on and other of your hair.

Got a pair of All Pro sliders that have been sitting in my apartment for probably 2 weeks...

 

Longhorn....sit back and take a deep breath, you have had them at your place for two weeks now. A few days longer won't hurt, TRUE if you are like me you want it taken care of NOW, most cases when I do that I royally screw something up. Ok thats the so-so me,

(the otherside) Now get out their and get them on, I want to have a look see. Need to make up my mind between them and the Schrock ones.

It will all work out for the best, looking forard to seeing them, gonna look totally sweet on your ride.

 

Very true... But, I kinda need them done this week. I'm driving down to Texas for Christmas, leaving a week from Monday. While I'm there, gonna trek over to Austin and do some wheelin' with silverback. So, I kinda need them done......

But, you're right - most of the time I rush things, I regret it later.

 

Any chance you could take them with you to Texas? Maybe there's a shop down there that can fix yer prob'm (sic).

 

Longhorn-Call a few auto part stores and ask if they know anyone in town who works on 4x4's. Usually someones knows of someone.. also ask if anyone knows someone who builds racecar roll cages. Where are you? Good luck!!

or find a shop that can do like custom exhaust work, they are usually very experienced welders and would probably be willing to do it and I doubt it would cost 200 bucks

 

where are you going to in Texas

 

I'll start off in Beaumont (east of Houston) for a few days then head over to Austin for another few days.

 

If you want to bring them with you to Texas there is a great welder in Arlington. His name is Ronny and he has a small shop called R&R Exhaust.
He charged me $150 to build a custome H pipe and put on 2 mufflers on my old F-150 so he is pretty reasonable.

 

I really don't have room to transport them to Texas. They won't lay flat in the bed - they're too long. And one of the big reasons I bought the locking tonneau cover was to secure all the stuff I'm taking down to Texas for Christmas while keeping it all clean and dry. And since I'll have my two dogs in the back seat, no room in the cab.

It's a good idea and I considered it for a moment. I figured, if nothing else, silverback knew someone in the Austin area who could mount them...

 

about 90% of the guys on this forum are from minnesota, i know a few of them are in the minneapolis area for sure. I know they would be able to tell you where to go.
