Just revisiting this in case anyone is curious. I forgot and finally called DPS yesterday. There was something holding back my application being approved in their system. As soon as the lady on the phone had my info she was able to resolve the issue. But if I never called I would have never gotten my permit. Being patient is one thing but it's absolutely unacceptable for it to take 90+ days to approve a constitutionally protected right. Per AZ's own legislation DPS has 60 days to run the background check/process the application and then 15 days more to send the permit.

    https://www.azleg.gov/ars/13/03112.htm

Granted this is less of an issue now that we have constitutional carry, but I still feel it's important to exercise these rights and keep agencies accountable. The mail in system + money order requirement already make the process more difficult, plenty of states have added lengthy processing times to discourage applicants from even bothering. Just my opinion of course.

Looking to clear up some space with things that aren't getting used. Prices are negotiable. Located in Flagstaff, willing to ship aside from the handgun which we'd have to work out a face to face.

Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm with XS Big Dot night sights and TRex Arms sidecar holster. 7 and 8 round mags included. Stippled by me. Less than 100 rounds through the gun. $300

New Eotech EXPS2-0, awesome optic was briefly mounted on a rifle but never fired. Reticle just doesn't work with my astigmatism. $450

Vortex Viper Gen 1 1-4, MOA reticle, with throw lever. $200

Vortex Viper 4-16x44, MIL reticle. $350

ADM 30mm QD mount, shown on the Viper 4-16. $100

Aero Precision 1" extended mount, never used. $50

Bergara B14 stock. Will fit any Remington 700 style action, short action only. $75

It has IR laser and visible green laser but it’s made in CHIYNA not Russia. This costa $120-$150 new as opposed to $400. There are a lot of YouTube videos out there on how these actually can hold a decent zero on 556 AR’s and yes they totally work with IR / NVG like the real thing.

The main difference probably lies within the actual internal construction / durability / quality inside. The outside of this unit feels really solid and legit and the buttons have a fantastic click feel to them. I love it but need to buy something else and I often move funds around like this to do so. YouTube it. Many people have been buying “airsoft IR / visible laser units for $150 instead of the $1k versions because it’s a lot of money & NVG already costs so much.

As far as I know only a few "clones" actually pot their internals (for those unfamiliar "potting" is when they basically use some shit similar to JB Weld to glue alllllll the circuit board components down. So tiny shit that would have shaken loose from recoil, can't shake loose.)
The potted clones are actually pretty damn solid, and while they have some issues they're going to become very very popular, I think.

Seems like the clones hold zero but skimp on quality in some "soft" aspects like how fine the adjustment is, focus of the illuminator, and so on. Also I wouldn't necessarily trust one for an "end of world" scenario but for flat rangers dicking with the NOD toobs you convinced the wife to let you have, they'll do swimmingly.

IR lasers aren't actually that expensive components wise, it's just that it's a very tightly locked down market for domestic companies. The FDA will shoot your dog if you make a laser too powerful. I could make a joke here about a country where the dog was probably already dinner but I'll save it.
Other countries don't care about the FDA and they import lasers that are capable of giving you impromptu IR Lasik surgery just like if you found a "grey market" full power IR laser that fell off a truck on its way to some MIL/LEO function.

Far as I've seen the only "civilian" power laser that's worth it is the BE Meyers MAWL... and that's eye wateringly expensive. I got mine used for just a hair under $3k... yeah it fucks, but that's well outside the reach of what I'd normally spend. My "toys" budget only recently recovered about a year later.

Probably the best watch about the topic:

All very thorough & accurate info from someone who knows what they’re talking about. For $100 I figured I’d play around with a “clone” unit and they just look so dang cool and I figured I’d do some low light dusty training out in the desert and it would make me laugh and giddy. The actual real stuff is a buy-in I’m not currently interested in. Most of the SHTF fantasy land stuff where nods are useful is pretty fantasy driven especially if your priority is protecting your children and wife as opposed to performing an offensive urban ‘night ops’ which we all dream about.
