There's no such thing as thread protector... And have fun removing the dual rate nut... Let's hope OP don't need to send it back after getting them off.

Correct. Those are in place before the resi got put on. You have to remove the resi to remove the nut

I have to remove the resi anyway, to put on the adapter elbow on, so my hose points in the right direction.

If you have to do that, than yes, might as well remove the dual rate nut.

Why didn't you order the CO with the correct fitting already?

I told Poly Performance what I need... They must not have been listening lol

One of the COs was packed brand new... the other had no packing material in it, and different tape, as if it had already been opened. And I'm also noticing there is no pre load backup ring on either of the COs.

It's my fucking luck... I'm used to it.

I see the preload backup ring on the diagram. But I'm not positive it's supposed to be there.

I've been running Fox extended travel coilovers (with the stock travel) and they don't have preload back up rings on them either. They have the allen screw to clamp the preload ring... these 8 inch coil overs seem to be the same as my previous Fox coil overs.

Honestly not even sure why that dual rate slider is on there. I'd think an 8 inch shock would be too short for that sort of set up.

I guess these aren't application specific, so there maybe a different application you could use a dual rate on. That's above my pay grade.

Why not order from Accutune? Poly is a third party seller, that's it. They don't know crap. All they know is, if they're a sku/part number, they'll list it on their site. They don't do any custom work requested from my understanding.

Because I sent multiple emails to Accutune and they were absolutely zero help.

As far as Poly Performance... they're a full service shop. You might want to read up a bit.

Besides, it doesn't really matter about the whys and the whats...
I have a coil over, that I'm going to need to do some stuff too before I install it. It's pretty simple.

It wouldn't matter much now but last year my buddy ordered a set of Fox smoothie, the package shipped from another company's warehouse, lol.

They should have some stuff in stock I would assume. Other items will probably get source out.

Ordered my CO from Accutune without issue. I send them a handful of email without committing to buy yet and they were more than willing to work with me. I guess each transaction is different?

You will want to remove the dual rate slider if your running a single spring. And bump it out without squishing that rubber bump on the shaft. That is there to protect the piston. I work at PolyPerformance and am happy to help you out. We do a lot of custom shockwork. You can leave the dual rate stop nuts but remove that dual rate plastic slider

Since you work at poly, why didn't your shop put in the correct fitting as requested by OP? OP mention he reached out and express his need with the CO? Lol

Not sure who OP is or what his order # is. We do install fittings on shocks if requested, I would need OP to get in touch with me to see if he ordered shocks and requested fittings installed or if he just ordered fittings by themselves
