    Just try to read what said in the Medicare website about the variations of its bewildering number of flavors for this topic make my brain hurts.
    Why can't they make it simple for the average deplorable like me could grasp it! :annoyed:

    I went to a couple of seminars to help me understand. Maybe there is something available in your area to help you too. It's not an impossible task. Worth the effort. Good Luck!

    Good point! I feel like I rolled the dice on this deal; I don't know exactly what the coverage will be until I get the bill, since they are the one who print it. If it is not what I thought then the dice have rolled in the wrong way...only hope for nothing serious going to occur to my health and that is a slim chance.

    It is baffling how simple things can be complicated unnecessarily for no other reason that people are being paid by the word to produce instructions.

    No, Ken. Get real. You got it backwards. Live it & do it now while you’re still able. If you put it off till later your aches and pains won’t let you. Learn from your elders.

    Your power supplier will probably want to install it for you. They do not like you cutting their seal off the meter. Our utility will only allow it, if it's an emergency. But they have one they will sell you, and install it for you, haha!

    Bear this in mind... when the power drops out, this device's electrically held relay will switch. Make sure you start your generator without a load connected. Let it spool up to full speed before you connect any loads. Your rectifiers will thank you.

    You are absolutely right Alan. I meant that the whole concept of retirement just gets better. When people retire I tell them to get out there and do it. Dont put off or delay. Live your dreams. You never know what tomorrow will bring. Everyone when they get to the end of their life wish whey would have done more but then it’s too late. No one at that point ever says I wish I would have done less, experienced less.
    Quick example - my best friend of 50 years retired early, bought a beautiful home in the country on several acres. He and his wife had $$$$, they had millions. Other than he and I going hunting and fishing, he and his wife did nothing but putter around their property. And that was fine, he enjoyed that. Shortly after a week long fishing trip we went on, he was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. He fought it for almost a year but got weaker and sicker, unable to do much of anything. I visited him a lot during that year and during our talks one of the things that stood out was his regret and sadness that he didn’t do many many of the things that he wanted to do but put them off. He honesty didn’t know why he put them off. He just got too comfortable, too lazy, he never thought about the final tomorrow. They were mostly simple things like he always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, visit Alaska and do an Alaskan cruise, visit Hawaii again with his wife, spend more time with his grand kids, an Alaskan fishing trip and on and on. Everything he wanted to do he could have easily, he had the time and money, but the that fateful diagnosis happened. That is why my wife and I go and do and travel so much every year. We are making memories. When my time on earth comes to an end I want lots of good memories and few regrets.
    So when you retire make a bucket list and don’t put it off.

    @Sprig
    You mentioned your friend's bucket list Grand canyon. I have traveled some, not extensively, but some, and the Grand Canyon is right up there at the top of my list of all time favorites. It is so unbelievably awesome, even from the rim it is amazing. My wife and I took a helicopter over the Canyon once, the pilot narrating the trip into our headphones. I mentioned to my wife that I hadn't seen what he had just described, and he actually circled back, dropped down for a close up view just for me! That whole trip, my eyes were bleary with tears it was so amazing.
    Now, back to bucket list, top of my list has been more whitewater rafting, specifically, down the Colorado. I wanted to do the eleven day trip, camping nights on the river. It never happened, and now I'm sorry. I wanted that so bad.

    Alan, the trip down the Colorado river has been on my bucket list for 40 years. Now due to back problems it’s not going to happen. Don’t know why I never did it, I had the money, had the time had the desire. And yes I’ve been to the Grand Canyon . It’s spectacular , it’s mind boggling

    We picked up a Winnebago Minnie Winnie 1.5 years ago and have taken 20 trips so far with our Senior GSD. Making plans for the future helps insure one has a long time on this earth.

    Welcome to the porch Billy @picturethis . Great group onboard here and a lot of topics from social seurity to travel and everything in between. Enjoy the thread:D

    Agree 100% Alan. My wife worked at a local hospital and many of her senior patients would tell her how they worked and saved so when they retired they would travel...didn't happen for many of them because of loss of a loved one or medical issues. We started traveling camping with the kids and when they got older we told them "see ya when we get home" and started traveling abroad :D:thumbsup:. My bucket list gets longer everytime I see a place that we haven't been. Life for us has been very good. Enjoy today because there is no guarantee there will be a tomorrow :drunk:

    It’s special when doggos and kitty cats bond and form friendships.
