The house seems to have been well preserved and in decent condition prior to the truck hitting it...

 

It was going to get torn down anyway, so I don't think that the truck owner's insurance company will have to pay for demolition...

 

If you look closely, you can see the refrigerant lines going up the side of the house into the attic. A house this old probably had baseboard heat, and the central air more than likely is not original...

I have no idea how I keep encountering these people; I have told @ColoradoTJ and @shakerhood about this guy in private text messages, and for obvious reasons I will not be naming any names. I first met this guy back in October when a female friend invited him to see the latest Thor movie with us; I was initially not happy, but I relented and he ended up being a nice guy who shared my viewpoints on numerous issues going on the in the world today. My friend met him through a mutual friend and ended up dating him for two or three weeks before he showed his true colors.

Within days of us becoming friends on Facebook, he started bombarding me with YouTube videos that I had no interest in viewing. This guy is more obsessed with trains (especially vintage steam engines) than I am with cars and trucks, a diehard railfan. He blew up my inbox with videos of trains that he found on YouTube, among other things, and I had to politely but firmly tell him to cut it out. Then, it was music records and videos of the various gadgets he has in his house.

The guy works full-time at a grocery store, but he took about two months off due to personal issues, and he was not working when I first met him. He went back to work the weekend after Thanksgiving. He has ADHD, but though he has classic traits of being autistic, he has not been formally diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum.

It was only after I met him after that I started getting bits of information about him from various reliable sources. He is NOT a violent person by any stretch of the imagination, but he has a piss-poor attitude and more or less does whatever the fuck he wants. He apparently got into a lot of trouble in middle school and high school for being disrespectful to teachers, and lost several friends because he would drop the nice guy persona and turn into a controlling asshole without warning.

This past Saturday night, I was supposed to go over to the house of a mutual friend for dinner; I was going to drive my one lady friend home since I live closer to her. The guy messaged me out of the blue, asked me when I going to arrive at the home of the second friend (also a woman, and friends with the guy for almost two decades)...

So, after asking me when I was going to be at our one friend's house, he very aggressively says that he is going to Ubering with our other female friend. My theory, looking back on this, is that even though they were no longer a couple he saw me driving her home as a threat and decided to intervene.

I said that it was no problem, that I would drive her home, and when met with resistance explained that it was more economically feasible for me to drive our friend home. He turned into an asshole, at which point I said that either I would drive our friend home, or I wouldn't be bringing the truck to our other friend's house for her family to see. At that point he called me a pussy bitch, totally unprovoked.

This guy currently lives with adoptive parents who adopted him as a baby from his crazy biological family in West Virginia. When he gets crazy like this, he called it "speaking West Virginian"; I call it "asshole with a hint of inner-city hoodrat". I have a good friend who has been living in West Virginia since about 2006 and is married to a West Virginia native, with whome he has four kids, and none of them act like this guy.

In response to him calling me a pussy bitch, I responded with a text message saying that I'd knock his teeth out if he talked to me like that ever again; I shouldn't have said that, but I am not stupid enough to put myself at risk of a felony charge over a vulgar insult. He took it literally and started going on about his dad is a lawyer and his brother is in the Army; I have friends who are lawyers and my dad was in the Navy, so I don't know if he thought he was intimidating me or what.

Our friend ended up getting a ride home from the other lady friend's dad, and has since blocked this guy.
