Hi all, I've been scouring for a little bit. Going to look at a 18 Pro tomorrow in Calvary Blue, 58k on the clock.
DCSB MT certified. Listed for $38,800, probably 39500 after docs and such. I'll attempt to negotiate a better deal seeing that I'm a few hours away and won't be using the free maintenance program they offer.

What are you guys thoughts? Also, I don't seem to fine very many manuals in the more unique Toyota colors, what's the reason for that. Does it hurt resale?

Some of you are going to hate me for saying this but I won't be doing much off-roading, the Manual gearbox and premium sound are the most important things to me. I like leather with kids and usually buy top trim vehicles because I keep my vehicles in "better than I bought it" condition, put very few miles on my vehicles, I work a mile from my home. A high milage vehicle quickly becomes a low milage vehicle for me after a few years. I don't have a necessary need for a Pro but I'm not finding any manuals with premium audio without a sunroof and I will be putting a rack up there to make up for the 5ft bed. I would love a DCLB manual but they don't make them so and the manual is the largest reason I've decided on the Tacoma. Ive also become a bit of a Toyota boy over the years and summer a 15 RCF.

    Thanks so much for responses.

Color is nice, manual is sick. Price a bit high for 58k miles.
For a Tacoma, it will never hurt resale value.

I'd buy a Taco all over again if I had to.

    Oh look, another mod....

If you want negotiate a better deal, here's what you need to do:

Before you go, eat some chili cheese frito's, cooked onions and asparagus (cabbage will also do). When the salesmen greets you, shake his hand, but do not let go. Keep a firm grip. Also, keep eye contact at all times. Then, burp in under your breath and slowly blow it in his face. As you do that, rip the nastiest fart you have ever ripped. You know the one, you'll have to wipe later.

As he's gasping for air and his eyes are watering, ask "Hey, I'd like to get the priced lowered by $2k". Sure, he'll tell you no, but you can rest in the satisfaction that you got pay back for all the other guys that were screwed over by car salesmen.

Do it for us, man. If you do, you'll be in our super-secret society. Good luck!

There is no premium audio with the manuals. Also 38k seems decent

Welcome to the forum :hattip:Good luck on the deal! :fingerscrossed:

Never worry about color, model or transmission hurting resale - every well maintained truck sells, with a Tacoma there is always a butt for every seat. :)

For that money you might be better off with a TRDOR with half the mileage. If you are not off roading, do you really need the Pro nameplate?

Without Premium audio or leather. Read the info posted about why he wants a higher end truck.

I’ll disagree with some others and say it’s a decent price. Only cheaper one I found in the entire country is $37,500 for one with 45k miles. Only catch is it’s salvage :rofl:and a giant piece of crap probably.

unless you look at new TRD OR with premium package you’ll be trying to find used Pros for high $30’s low $40’s.

I can't speak to the price without looking up some book values. People pay crazy money for used Tacomas, and the Pro is sought after. I doubt it's possible to "steal" one. If you don't buy it, someone else will.

I understand why you want the Pro. Some of your reasons are the same reasons I have for buying one. I usually buy higher end vehicles and I prefer leather seats. The other added goodies like TRD exhaust and upgraded suspension just make it so I won't have the itch to upgrade anything. I don't put a ton of miles on either, and I take really good care of my vehicles. I'm hoping for an EV or PHEV midsize truck in the coming years, so my '23 Pro is just a placeholder while something better comes along. When that happens, the resale will likely be strong. Even if it's not, I'll have had the pleasure of driving what I wanted regardless of what anyone else thinks.

So try to negotiate for a better price. However that ends up, buy it if it feels right, and walk if it doesn't.

Way too much for used with almost 60k . In a month you'll be on here asking questions about shit that's going wrong with it. Go new if you can. In the long run you will be happy, and $1000's ahead in the resale department.

    Ugh,

Are you set on a Pro? I am on the fence because the color and transmission. Miles are high but would run long time with good maintenance. Would rather find a new manual in my color and mod it up. Any mods on this pro.

Pro adds more than “nameplate”. It’s essentially a loaded tr or with a better suspension.

Good luck with the Tacoma! Pay what you think is fair, I purchased my certified 2016 SR5 4x4. 4 cyl Tacoma for $25k. I felt it was a good deal.
Good luck with it. Enjoy life is too short

Sure. But for daily driving on road, does the suspension upgrade actually matter?

Interesting spec for the price. If you really want it and can negotiate a little, I’d say go for it.

My neighbor just paid $38k out the door for a loaded 2018 sport with lift, wheels and 37k miles. He’s happy, even though many here would say he got ripped off.
