The gf drops off homemade cookies at our local Mexican restaurant every Christmas. This year I sent a bottle of once a year bottled local bourbon to give to the owner. He hands her a horsey bottle to give me! I'll take it!

You are doing better than me, I got a bowl of chips with a piece of chewing gum stuck on the last chip.

Broke into my sample library for a Compass Box Great King street Artist Blend, Total Wine edition (they had it aged an additional year in another barrel, I think it was French limousine- oak).

Fresh bottle crack. I’ve been killing quite a few lately so it’s time

Thanks to the heads up from @JoeySauce I was able to grab the Midwinter's Night Dram today. Looking forward to cracking it open on Christmas Eve.

So today marks the absolute last day I’m picking up a new bottle for a while. It’s getting ridiculous. Fellas, I just don’t drink very much, and the math is getting kinda scary when I realize it could take a decade to drink what I have.

Picked up a cask strength Redwood Empire Emerald Giant, a Knob Creek Rye SB Select, and another Penelope Architect. The rye came with a fancy bag and will be a Christmas gift.

The plan after this: only open a new bottle if three are finished. Far, far too many open bottles with a pour or two missing because I want to try everything.

I really need a tasting notebook.

Sounds like you need to make some new friends to join on your tastings haha. Either that or switch to ordering tasters from sites!

I joined a group in the neighborhood that does a weekly bourbon thing. They love me, I bring a great bottle every time. That helps. But, where I am in my life and my group of friends, we all enjoy a pour but no one is interested in getting trashed. It’s fun to savor the good stuff.

I hear ya. I've spent more on whiskey this month than on my Tacoma and that just ain't right!

Sick kid means a working late pour. Will be glad when I’m through this 1792 because it’s just not good. It’s the only bottle from the collection I let my wife pour into her apple pies.

Anytime I see it being enjoyed here it's Sweet Wheat or Full Proof, neither I have seen in the wild.
