5 of those new on PartsEngine is $1600 before taxes, and 4-6 weeks lead time, so good deal if the description is accurate. Need to examine in person, check for dry rotting, etc.

 

Anyone know a good place in Hamilton, Burlington, or Niagara area that does frame repair. Just noticed rust got my 09 DC frame. Called and emailed Toyota in St Catharines who applied the horrible "rust prevention", but I'm afraid I may be out of luck in getting Toyota to repair the issue.

 

yikes …I know there is a campaign to replace frames but maybe you were past the in-service date?

I just dug this up but it has US details…..Seems like 12 years on this campaign.

Did you have the dealership inspect the frame annually after their crappy rustproofing application? I believe this step is important Having them document the inspections after their application.

I think it worked something like that and if a hammer could go through the frame the service manager would get you a new one.

Young mechanic kid that I know in my little community just got a brand new frame free from Toyota but I’m not sure what year his truck was. He purchased the truck about 2 years ago With 550,000 km on it And got the new frame this year.

Toyota just painted the paint failure on my 2012 RAV4 for free but I certainly had to make sure that this got done after receiving the letter in the mail before the 10 year in-service date expiry. You have to bother and pester them a little bit Mine was done nine years and 11 months from the in-service date but I contacted them a year before and had to wait and wait.

good opportunity to do a cab mount relocation. Cut off the stock mount and rust. Replate rusty sections and then weld in new mount. My truck frame was pretty corroded as well but it can be done.
