I didn't see him in person. This was all via text message. The situation with this guy is weird. He is not violent, but he likes to talk tough, and quite frankly I am amazed that he hasn't yet mouthed off to the wrong person and gotten a thorough ass-kicking or even worse. Apparently, his mom is scared of him and just backs off when he tells her to go fuck herself. He has driven at least two girlfriends besides my friend away because of his controlling nature. He believes that men should work and make all the money, while women should stay home and do everything men say. His mom (adopted, not biological) has not helped matters, as she once attempted to beat the older brother (who is her biological son) for sneaking his girlfriend into her house to have sex. I have brought two different women into my parents' house before and fooled around with them (one time in the basement while my parents were home); I don't discuss this type of thing with my mom, but both she and my dad know that I've brought girls into their house and they don't care.

It also doesn't help that his mom imposed her own lockdown on him during the pandemic; I made it clear to my parents early on that I would not be sequestering in the house for an indefinite length of time, and for the better part of 2020 I would drive around for hours just to get out of the house. I have a driver's license, but unfortunately this guy does not and his learner's permit is expired. His mom told him that he had to stay home or find someplace else to live. Movie theaters have been open since 2021, and I have been going into them maskless since they reopened. Remember how we went to see Thor: Love and Thunder a few months ago? That was this guy's first time inside a movie theater since early 2020 because his mom would not let him leave the house for any reason but going to work. His mom also put several of his belongings at the curb and tried to kick him out of the house because the two of them have differing political views. Thankfully, his dad intervened and he was not kicked out.

My friend is still giving me grief for saying I would knock his teeth out, even though she doesn't like this guy either; I say again that I would not clobber a guy simply for calling me a nasty name, but what do you think would happen if he said this to a perfect stranger (regardless of a gender)? They wouldn't threaten to knock his teeth out. They would like just do it! Hell, some people are crazy enough that they might just skip the beatdown and shoot him; I was trying to prove a point of how people who aren't as nice me would act if he talked like a thug to them...

And that's not even the biggest issue. He somehow got the idea that a woman's role is to do whatever her man says. High-functioning autistic individuals do not like to be controlled in any situation. He also has this overwhelming desire to buy flashy gifts for people. When he saw my Tacoma decked out with Christmas lights for the first time, he found this light-up Santa online and tried to buy it for me; I told him to save his money, as I was not interested in this item, so he bought it to put on his shitbox 2004 Ford Explorer. This Ford Explorer was purchased by his parents for his older brother in about 2015 and now has two blown head gaskets and two warped heads as result of his brother not performing basic preventive maintenance. The Explorer runs, but it pukes out a significant amount of coolant from both sides of the engine on startup and literally fills the whole neighborhood with a huge cloud of white smoke. The coolant has to be topped off constantly, and while it runs and is insured, it has been sitting for over a year and is not inspected or registered.

This same guy was also propositioned by the 19-year old bipolar girl who wanted to have sex with me in a public bathroom stall. He chatted with her on Facetime three times over the course of a few days. She sent him numerous nude photos and videos where she was pleasuring herself with a vibrating dildo. She is the first girl I've ever come into contact with who actually thinks guys owe her sex. Despite being interest in sex with men, she seems to have an intense hatred of the opposite sex as well; I have never seen anything quite like it!

So, here's a bit of history on this '04 Ford Explorer XLT. It is very well-equipped, and it not only has 4WD but a limited-slip rear differential. My ex-friend has the original window sticker, and this thing had an MSRP of like $34K when it was new; I can't remember if it has leather seats, and it does not have a sunroof, but it has just about every other option you can get. It unfortunately has the 4.0L V6 instead of the 4.6L V8. For some reason, the previous owner replaced the original engine with a used engine from a totaled Explorer at just 100K miles. A 2004 Ford Explorer cannot touch a Toyota 4Runner of the same year in terms of reliability, regardless of whether it has the V6 or the V8, but the 4.0L is not a horrible engine and can last 200K+ miles with proper maintenance; I'm guessing that either the previous owner did not maintain it, or there was some sort of freak occurrence. Whoever put the replacement engine in replaced everything but the head gaskets...

    o_O

Neither of us knew how many miles the replacement motor had, but this guy's brother did not perform basic maintenance and the lack of upkeep caused both head gaskets to blow. He continued to drive it, with predictable results...

Now both cylinder heads are warped, the engine constantly leaks coolant, and there's a contant cloud of white smoke coming from the tailpipe at all times. The Explorer has some incredibly minor rust, but it has a clean title and has never been wrecked. The A/C works, as do all other accesories. The 4WD does not work, and the issue has not been discovered yet. The biggest problem is that, unlike my Tacoma, this engine would probably need a complete rebuild rather than a replacement of the head gasket. Also, Ford Explorers are a dime a dozen and don't hold their value like a Tacoma (or any Toyota product for that matter). Just rebuilding the engine would exceed the actual cash value of this Explorer. The current odometer reading is like 157K and change. The engine was replaced for unknown reasons at around 100K miles, and the mileage of the replacement engine is unknown; I recommended that they just replace the engine if they are so dead set on keeping the Explorer. The transmission seems to be fine, but the 4WD does not work and the cause of this is unknown; I estimate a cost of about $10,000 to bring this Explorer to perfect working order, regardless of whether or not they rebuild the engine or replace it. Just replacing the engine without servicing the 4WD would cost over five grand, and I guarantee you that the Explorer is not worth five grand in perfect condition...

If they are dead set on keeping it and on a budget, then snag a low mileage engine from the Junkyard and throw it in.

Well, my dumbfuck wasn't drunk or armed. He's all talk. However, he did buy a cheap Taurus revolver a year or two ago when his biological family started stalking him. His biological family lives in West Virginia. Sometime prior to 2020, he did some research and tracked them down. He decided to reach out and regretted it almost immediately. The whole family is crazy. One of his uncles members is fucking another blood relative, and there is a history of epilepsy in his family (though he tested negative). He bought the revolver after a family member from West Virginia, whom he had never given his address, texted him a picture of his house in Pennsylvania. He bought the revolver without telling his parents, and they made him sell the gun when his mom found out; I honestly don't think he should have a firearm due to the aforementioned mental issues.

I lied. This Explorer is a 2003; Rose's mom has a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT with only 60K miles that is in much better condition all around. Rose said the cruise control doesn't work, but I rode in it in August 2021 and the A/C worked great. The 2003 Explorer with the blown head gaskets is a rose gold color with a beige interior, and Rose's mom's 2004 Explorer is dark red with a beige interior.

MSRP on that exact one was like $34,995 according to the window sticker, and this one didn't have the V8 or leather seats!

In its current condition, yes. Any dealership around here would be selling that Explorer with those exact miles for five grand in perfect working order; I would pay $2,500 if it were in perfect working order.
