Why would I trade a state-of-the-art gaming console for a shitbox with two blown head gaskets and inop 4WD?!?!

I'll trade the PS3, the Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii that I haven't used in years for the Explorer; I've also got a PS2 around here somewhere, but I haven't seen that since 2010...

My parents bought me a PS2 for Christmas in 2001; I didn't even ask for it because I thought my parents would deem it too expensive ($300 at the time), but I was pleasantly surprised!

The Dreamcast has got to be one of the most underappreciated game consoles of all time. Back in 1999-2000, the original PlayStation and the N64 could be purchased new for $100, while the Sega Dreamcast was $150. Apparently, Sega got in trouble because it was possible to copy non-Sega games and play them on that console...?

My grandma bought me a PS1 for Christmas in 1999, and I haven't played it or even seen it since 2002; O don't even know if we still have it. My PS2 and PS3 are both packed away somewhere...

    Sonic the hedge hog:rofl:
    My friend had a Saga.

I had Nintendo, Super NES, Ps1, and Ps2.
Dabbled in the PC game stuff for about 6 months.

I’m guessing 2002 or so was the last of my gaming days.

A risk to looking into that background. Being an adopted child myself I can relate

At least those weren't the rollover ones.

I wouldn't mind the PS2 if you want to part with it :)

I think the Dreamcast's biggest issue was Sega took such a beating on the Saturn. Plus the console couldn't play DVDs like the comps could. You might be right about the copy protection as well. Sucks because in some ways the system was ahead of its time.

I was a witness to the damage a sugar shaker can do to the skull of a “bullet proof” drunk guys head. There was no warning, the other guy cracked drunk guys head. Bang, it was over with. Blood was pouring. It happened fast. Other guy wasn’t in the mood.

This occurred at a Huddle House.
Think of it as a lower class Waffle House.

I’m more concerned that a lower class Waffle House exists.

One of my federal LEO friends was hit with a beer bottle at a bar. He is Native American and the guy had a problem with that I guess. He could have beat him easily but local LE was called, he was arrested and charged. My friend went to court and made this idiots life hell.

I asked why he didn’t do anything and he taught me a little thing about how paper hurts a lot longer than the fist.

“well Chris, I’m not going to risk my career, I figured he was a multiple offender (and was) and in a long time from now if he can afford to go out and have beers…might not do this again. His problem with my skin is not my issue..but his. This long haired “chief” isn’t bothered by it.”

You really never know what kind of person the other guy is.
Or what type day he’s having.

    He went to jail.
    And he went peacefully.

Just because a drunk is annoying you, doesn’t necessarily make it ok bust him in the head.
You have to have a better reason.

I will admit, the other guy did what everyone else “wanted to do”.

I got in a few bar fights in my younger years. Not my norm but certain things just called for something to be done right there.

I do agree with your friend's statement plus the damage even a deserved ass beating can do to the beater.

I did have to be stopped once from really going off on such a drunk about 10 years ago. 3 times this fool spilled beer on me..not just a drop either, enough to saturate my shirt. I had already asked him nicely to cut the crap. The last time I turned around and was ready to bumrush him. My wife said "you know, that dummy wasted $30 on that beer..and think of the hangover he'll have tomorrow".

Everyone has a breaking point. Where that is? Who knows. Like you said, never know what kind of day they are having.

As the years pass, I understand the movie “Falling Down” more and more.

I’m 3 years older than my brother.
My brother had a friend in high school that needed up living with us.
(Long story, details not important)I can’t say I was good friends with him, but I would say we are well acquainted with each other. By that time I was working full time at a lumber yard, but still living with my parents. For the story’s sake, he’s my “friend”.

He became a Police officer, but before he was on road patrol, he had to work the jail.
I think it’s like “paying your dues”. Start at the bottom. And the jail intake is the bottom.

Anyways, a comes in in cuffs. Drink of course.
Looks a my friend and says, “As soon as I’m out of cuffs. I’m punching you in the face”.
Evidently these types threads are common, and no one give them much attention.

Well sure enough, the guy punched my friend in the face.
    Nearly knocked him out.
(It’s not funny, but it is…..kind of)

I can’t speak on, nor do I know anything about what might, or might not have happened to the guy that punched him.
