I'm hoping this extreme cold weather doesn't mess up flights into Tennessee on Friday . My Brother will be heading here from Hawaii and will have a layover in Houston then flight from there into Nashville

He's going to be cold when he arrives here as it'll be 83 deg when he leaves Hawaii and when he lands here in Nashville it'll be -15 deg

    Good morning everybody.

No rain and the winds have stopped blowing for today, the calm before “The Polar Vortex” (insert ominous music).

Twenty degrees is dangerously cold for us gulf coasters, it’s too cold to sit at the tiki bars on the beach at that temperature lol. I know it’s nothing compared to what you will be dealing with, those temps are too low for me to comprehend.

For my part of FL, we do get freezing temps a few times during the winter, usually in February. When we get them they are overnight lows and it’s above freezing by 9:00. It has been probably 10 years since we’ve had an extended period of below freezing temps. I don’t remember wind chills in the single digits back then either.

Why, thank you very much :)

I've seen Hank once, a very long time ago.... and Kenny a couple times, maybe 10ish years ago. Would love to see them both again. My wife and I are going to see Buddy Guy on his farewell tour in May 2023. Never seen him before, that is a bucket list item for sure. He's my favorite of the old school, traditional blues men.

I saw Hank Jr. like 6 times. one he was so drunk back in the day he sucked. another later on and was one of the best concerts ive seen. do believe thats why older country music was so good. they lived what they sang about and somehow survived it.

Saw buddy guy years ago - my ex was big into blues. From our seats we could see the side stage / back stage. Dude kept running back every couple of songs to smoke a joint. He was so stoned out of his mind I don't think he knew what was happening. I wasn't impressed.
The dude that opened for him stole the show IMO. Joe Bonamassa. He's about my age. Freaking incredible guitar player. Had never heard of him before that night but I still listen to him regularly to this day.

I've been meaning to check Joe out, I have actually never listened to any of his work, though I have been aware of him for a few years.

I have pretty wide ranging tastes in both the Country and Rock genres.
Hank is my absolute favorite country artist, hands down. I also love Alan Jackson, George Jones, Waylon..... I am decidedly NOT a fan of modern pop/boyband country. I absolutely love Alan's latest album "Where have you gone?".
I also like southern rock style, Skynrd, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet..... though my favorite style is heavy rock. AC/DC is my absolute favorite band, I love Deep Purple, Ozzy, Van Halen.....
