Yup it’s possible. It’s just about a direct fit you’ll just need to alter the upper mounting brackets a bit by bending them.

What about bolting it in? What did you use? And did you make your own bracket to make that shelf?

Other than the upper brackets the install is the same as the third Gen

I used the 5th Gen 4runner shelf and used the mounts provided on the back to the rear window MOLLE I then fabricated my own arms to hold the front mounted to the grab handle bolt.

I’m pretty sure I used the hardware that came with it. The part that goes in the hole I may have trimmed I can’t remember exactly

You could probably also get a piece of flat steel bar and put a heavy duty rivnut in the middle of it the turn it sideways to mount the upper brackets.

Pretty neat setup; saving this thread for future ideas.

Darn rear-facing car seats take up too much room!

Yeah even with the double cab it’s tight. Once the little lone can move to a booster seat things should be easier .. Savin this thread for future a future project

Do you know if this will fit an access cab or is it for crew cab only?

No idea about the access cab. Although it doesn’t hang forward that far I would imagine it could work

edit: if you are just referring to the window panel then yes I would assume the rear window dimensions are the same if you have the overhead hook mount locations needed that is. If you are talking about the shelf you will have to utilize the rear passenger grab handle mount points to support the front of the shelf. If you don’t have those then no it will not work
