I'll think about it eventually, I do wrench a lot but the issue is I do lots of other stuff too. Full woodshop, getting into welding/fab work, cnc mill,3d printing stuff. Everything takes up room.

 

Without a stable concrete floor I wouldn’t even bother for safety sake. But they are a good deal as posted.

 

Hell that list of stuff you might be able to fab up a lift yourself. The tricky part would be getting matching hydraulic cylinders

 

Only thing I have left is the cat back install. But it can wait.

throw some heat in there .....and it's a man cave of sorts.......walls were meant for hanging shit not tripping over them.....just saying.

 

He'd have to insulate it to be efficient for heating. I have my barn fully insulated and I swear it maintains heat better than my house does... I run a propane ceiling hanging heater with two ceiling fans and it works mint. I must say - not having to work outside on a vehicle is amazing and I don't think I could ever go back to that...

 

I gotta get insulation in mine and put my ceiling fans up

 

I'd settle for one of those RediHeaters for when I work outside, just so I can get a little heat in the general vicinity!

 

Tractor supply has a sale on 60k BTU propane salamander heaters. I picked one up for the time being, I have a pellet stove for the garage but it's not setup and we were sort of rushed into put stuff in the garage so it's going to have to wait til spring to get hooked up

I've been thinking about that. I have a 6000 watt shop heater that puts out around 20,000 BTUs, but my garage is mostly uninsulated. It will maintain heat easily while I'm working out there, but takes a long time to actually get the garage heated up.

My thought was to get a big propane one to get the temperature up quicker and more efficiently, then maintain with the electric while I'm working out there so I don't have to keep a door cracked.

I liked them as kerosene heaters but I think yhe propane will work good as well. I just don't have money for a bigger one or I would have gotten a bigger one

But, like you said it's expensive. I also need tires for the ATV, the cat might need another surgery, our living room TV has done a few odd things that makes me think it may be failing, and I wanted an exercise bike for the basement to try to burn at least a few calories in the winter.

Too many expenses, not enough extra income! Especially after I just spent a bunch on Christmas.

 

Im planning on a wood stove, wont heat the place any but will be nice to get the chill out every once and a while. And the fuel will be essentially free. I see wood stoves all the time being given away for free if you can remove it.

 

Absolutely. And don't knock them, those things can throw some HEAT. My master though is to dig out the crawl space into a full basement and I'll put a wood stove down there. Supplementary (same idea as you, fuel is free basically), and if the power goes out heat the whole shebang. At least enough for a power outage to not freeze the pipes and such.

I want to get one to drop into my current fireplace but I don't think that'll work out.
