Yes we can thank CAFE regulations for the unorthodox factory tune. Emissions is everything theses days. Toyota engineers trying to do it all. It's great to know the engine and transmission is bullet proof with regular maintenance and drivability is more traditional feeling with a tune.

I see you mentioned a “full year” if your still on the same tune from a year ago you owe it to yourself to get the latest KDMAX Pro 9.0 upgrade, it is light years ahead of where the tunes were a year ago!

@ivan5105 what that grey or silver thing just below the front bumper. Almost looks like a front air dam?

Can anyone explain how the adaptive cruise control works when tuned? Does it simply revert back to the stock tune when cruise is engaged?

Correct, the tuning software doesn't have that area opened up to the tuners.

Correct. We can’t alter the stock Adaptive CC settings due to liability, but we do change the shift points and the tune improves the adaptive cruise system to work better.

Got it. So there is no problem using the adaptive cruise while tuned?

I did a comparison test when tuned with the XT tune on Normal and Adaptive cruise.
I drove approximately 125 miles on each and they operated the same with shift points and when they downshifted and after climbing the hills how long it took to upshift (usually within 100’). The latest KDMAX Pro 9.0 has just refined it a little more and cruise is actually usable again without wondering what’s going on.

So if I drive around rather calmly, I probably want the Lite Throttle option? Can't the ECT power button be mapped to the Normal Throttle option?

ect would give you more umph, for sure. I believe it has been said, it does change the throttle sensitivity too. @PapaRee , or @TWTaco will chime in, I am sure. Ski

Yes if you get the Lite throttle you get Sport with ECT on. Or have it set for Normal if you like.
