I enjoyed David Fleming on the call. He’s been doing a great job with the Giants crew for years.

Cleaning GM and coaching at KC. Probably due.

I'm looking forward to the clock next year. Have wanted one for years. Likely will be some learning curve issues but imagine nearly 30 wasted secs being gone off of EVERY pitch we won't be watching the adjusting of balls and gloves . . .

So Tyler Anderson turns down a qualifying offer ($19.65m/1yr) from a regular contender to go to the Angels for $13m/yr? Either dude doesn't expect to be as effective this year, he's not represented by Scott Boras, and/or there's something brewing in Anaheim we don't know about yet.

Correa to the Mets. As a Giants fan I can’t really say I’m disappointed, maybe disappointed in the off-season as a whole but that contract didn’t sit right with me. Think they dodged a bullet.

Not being on the inside I’m not willing to call anyone a bum but it did bother me that no one from his side or his teams would say anything regarding his situation. They just pointed to his previous contract offer and said that should be enough to quiet concerns. Having gone through a series of second basemen with back and other issues from the mayhem around the bag Crawford’s longevity has been remarkable which makes their reticence to signing a 13 year mega deal with a player with a known problem understandable, especially if the player and agent aren’t totally upfront about it. Mega deals are sexy but the Giants finally got their titles by doing it the hard way and drafting well first and THEN adding some key veterans with a hunger to win. It takes everyone to keep the line moving on offense and a stout pitching staff to hold the line at critical moments. One or two marquee players can’t do that.

I would have rather signed a 2-year value deal for someone like Drury, then pursue Shohei this coming year. If nothing else, we'll be in a much better financial spot to make a splash in that pool.

They won’t make it back until they get scouts that can evaluate talent and minor league coaches that can develop it. I’m not convinced that metrics alone is a good way to manage. It fosters the belief that one can only succeed if put in the ideal situation.

The Giants should be offering anybody who bought season tickets in the past week a refund.

I’d rather they spent 35 million on the minor league system.
