Not knowing what brand or pattern that your white light bars are the answer is "probably". From a strictly wavelength and reflecting light perspective they'll definitely perform better.

However, let's say that you had a white light bar mounted low (below the hood line) and it was in a true spot pattern. It's not going to help with roadway edge identification due to the lack of pattern width, but it will likely have less reflection back to you due to its output characteristics.

As per my profile I went with BD. Very impressed with the Sports. As I will be doing alot of offroad and in dusty environments I felt they were the only real option. I am planning to do the ditch by BD as well. Customer support is on point.

@memario1214 if I do end up going with the Amazon one, how can I tell if they are genuine just out of curiosity?

Looking forward to what Baja has developed for their 2nd Gen units being I was the one that pointed out the 1st Gen units were not actually SAE compliant, causing the recall.

Yes, as long as you have some form of receipt we will honor the Lifetime warranty on the light.

Most lights resold on Amazon are genuine if bought from a trusted seller. A lot of our larger distributors actually purchase the lights from us and resell them through Amazon. I have never once seen a fake Baja Designs light sold on Amazon.

I picked up some SSC2 Pro ditch lights (they do the job) and DD Max SAE/Selective Yellow fogs during the Black Friday sale. The DD Max fogs have been incredible over the past few weeks in early morning Northern/Central CA fog. It gets thick in the Merced/Los Banos area. Expensive, but darn they are bright with a very nice cutoff and they do not sear the retinas of oncoming traffic when properly aimed.

Obviously I can't compare with the soon to be released BDs. However, I do have a BD S8 light bar, it's a darn fine piece of equipment. If I did not have the pressing need for replacement/upgraded fog lights - I would wait to see the new iteration of the SAE BDs then decide.

I couldn't tell you why but occasionally Amazon drops the price on BD lights for some reason, sometimes an incredible amount. I've purchased a 40" S8 for $500, a 20" OnX6+ for $400 and three pairs of Squadron sports for $150 each. All legitimate product and all shipped and sold by Amazon. The only consistency I've found is when there's only a couple of items remaining in stock.

I believe it. There are certain companies that do this all of the time. They'll flash drop pricing of products on some of the really big retail sites (Amazon/Ebay) and sell as many as they can. They get "slapped" by the OEM, and fix pricing. They wait a month or two until the heat dies down and do it again. Some will get thrown onto DNS lists, but to be honest most likely don't. I'm not the one monitoring it, but that would certainly be my assumption. I receive a copy of BDs DNS list periodically and there's not that many names on it considering how often I see MAP broken. Sucks for the rest of us who play by the rules, but that's commerce baby!
