I’ve never been able to locate a Sweet Wheat but 1792 is all over the shelves here in a controlled state so I’ve passed on it. Looks like I guessed right. I’m gonna find a Sweet Wheat one day…

I don’t bother with the small batch, full proof store picks can be awesome, 12 year it tasty as well

I have multiple full proof store picks hanging around if you’re interested

This is the first nice bottle of whiskey I bought myself. I revisit it every so often, when something good happens at work. Not looking forward to this one being gone, shared quite a few good memories w this one

    This is it right here.

Love whiskey, also love being healthy. At appropriate rates of consumption, the current backlog is years.

All this talk about 1792…so I’ve never tried the small batch but I have one bottle apiece of the Full Proof and the Sweet Wheat. I haven’t cracked either and won’t any time soon…the Sweet Wheat I’m saving to celebrate some major future life event. I hear it’s bananas…

Tongue in cheek because for whatever reason that faint bananas in the JD hits my taste buds just right…so I assume I’ll love the SW

Tapping into my sample library again while making dinner. Tonight, it's Dalmore 12 sherry cask select. This scotch surprisingly tastes more like bourbon than scotch. Not sure why, but has strong vanilla/banana notes that overpower the sherry. It also has that brassy red color.

Today’s pickups. Nothing crazy, but all new to me. Especially excited to crack the Larceny BP.

What ya got going on in the background there?

That’s a great haul. With all the stupidly rare bottles out there this time of year, it’s important to be grateful for the stuff that isn’t stupidly rare but still isn’t easy to find.

That’s good to know, but, how about the second pic? That was the real mystery. What am I looking at there?

Is that the 1792 small batch? I'm not a fan of the small batch or the 12 year, but the rest are really good. I have several 1792 full proof store picks that are phenomenal.

Never had this type before, so we'll see how it goes. Cross between acorn and sweet potato squash.
