New to the forum. Does the 2011 Tacoma have the ipod hookup? Just picked up my truck yesterday, see a jack, not sure if it is for a ipod. If so would I get the cable from the dealer? Thanks, Joe

You don't need to go to the stealer for a cable; any of the usual suspect electronic stores can help you out.

It works great in my 2011 DC. Quality is great and it's a heck of a lot better than the radio transmitters I used in the past... I recommend getting a 3ft cloth wrapped AUX cable. I got a good AUVIO one from radio shack for $15.

Called the parts department and they said there is a jack in the glove compartment. They said to use the cable that comes with the ipod. I looked and could not find a jack in the glove compartment. Thanks, Joe

Don't let that dealership touch your vehicle. It's clear that they are not bright fellows.

Is the interface hard to install? I am heading to Radio Shack for the cable for the ipod connection. I went on Grom site could not find 2011 listed and went on USA Spec, does not seem like you can order direct from them, only listed email contac, no phone. Thanks, for all the help. Joe

If you are just looking for an AUX cable look on Ebay if you don't need it right now. I bought one for about $3 and its retractable so you don't have a long cable going every where. It may not be the best but I have no complaints

Is there a differance in the 2010 n 2011? I could not find a listing for 2011, only 2010. I emailed USA Spec but they have not returned my email. Thanks. Joe

EDIT: I am guessing they meant that you have to buy the whole interface kit which gets you the glove box jack, not just the cable?

I was browsing the Toyota website. Here is a quote about the jack in the glove box. This is part of the interface kit?

there is an aux port underneath the A/C control, go to wal-mart and get a aux wire for like 5 bucks and you can plug it into the sound port on your ipod and play music!! :D

What's the deal with this? Is there an OEM part you can get from the dealership?

Alright, I got a part number on the OEM Toyota kit, that is listed as compatible with our 2011s. iPod Interface Kit PT545-00082

Lists for $250, but it's available for $200 on ToyotaTRDParts.
