The MRAP. This is my brothers work vehicle. He is with the 300th MP Co currently deployed in Iraq. He's the turret gunner. It's an International WorkStar 7000 chassis with just a few mods. He said don't let the size of these things fool you because they have BALLS. He said when they got them off the plane back in Sept. the drivers were runnin them across the tarmac at like 75-80 mph! They are pretty well explosion proof. one got hit by a 600 lb IED and it never penetrated the hull! The crew was banged up and the gunner died but they didn't know if that was from the explosion or the truck rolling over on him.

Oh gawd, the 111 is louder. Those crappy Pratt and Whitney TF30s sucked but they could rattle the fillings out of your mouth. But honestly, the F-4 in the air was the loudest. Those General Electric J79s could make a brick fly!

I saw a raptor last year at the Pittsburgh Air show, damn was it fast! It was doing circles around another bigger jet.

Yes sir! I love the F-15 but the F-22 always comes out on top in a fight. It's just too manuverable.

I was pretty shocked to see a U-2 circling the valley a few weeks ago. First 2 F-16's circled around for 45 min then the U-2 showed up on the scene. Pretty cool day. Crappy pics I know but all I had with me was my cell. Good Ole' Skunk Works.

I've said it before, these pictures of IR Flare look great. But ya gotta feel for the poor AMMO troop that had to load those magazines just to have them blown off in 5 seconds.

For those of you that don't know, the B-36 was the United States Strategic penetration bomber from 1949-1959. It was the Nuclear Deterrent during the harsh early years of the Cold War. Here it is at the Pima Air Muesem near Davis-Montham Air Force Base undergoing restoration.

Since I work in the industry, I'll post some of the better known Military UAS. In another post, I'll post the less knowns... :D

Shadow 200 (The primary Army UAV and now the USMC.)

Pioneer UAV (Used extensively in the USMC until being replaced by the Shadow 200)

Hunter UAV (Used currently in the Army, although the program was officially canceled about 15 years ago)

SkyWarrior UAV (QRF UAV for the Army. It's basically a Predator with a heavy fuel engine, upgraded avionics, and a larger wing.)

Global Hawk UAV (Used by the USAF. Just won the Maritime Surveillance contract for the USN.)

FireScout UAV (Army FCS, USN UAV, and slated for the USCG. Currently in testing phase. Fielding in ~2012 aboard an LCS.)

Maritime Surveillance? Is it to replace the P-3 or is the P-8 still to be produced?

61-7972 This aircraft was a guest at the 1974 Farnborough Airshow having crossed from New York to London in 1 hour 54 minutes and 56.4 seconds, a time that shattered the previous record. Unfortunately the whole show was marred by torrential rain that led to flooding and the state of the ground can also be seen in this image.
