I had checks mailed to me. Mailed out Nov. 29th. Last scan was Dec 2nd. Stayed like that until Dec 16th. Then they showed up the 18th. Sometimes it just be that way. Esp around the holidays. I'd give it 2 weeks

Yup. I've had them go from "label created" to "delivered" with no updates in between even though it was shipped from half way across the country. A lot of shipping companies hire seasonal help this time of year and seasonal help doesn't necessarily mean quality help.

I’d like to set one up with fixed sights and a green dot. I got my Son in law a green dot for Christmas so I’m going to see how clear it is. Damn astigmatism I cant focus on a red dot to save my ass.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. I picked up a green Holosun 507c on Black Friday after hearing everyone rave about how much better green is for astigmatism.

It’s just as fuzzy as my red dots (which I can shoot just fine but it looks crappy when I scrutinize it). I didn’t notice any improvement with the green. Like many things online I found it to be more hype than anything. I can still use it on the dot only setting but if I do circle dot the circle and dot blur into one big smudge for me.

The green has been crystal clear for me with my prism optics and lpvos so I figured it’s worth a try :notsure:. I used to shoot archery competitively, apples and oranges I know, I used optics with 6x lenses and I could never get a clear image with a red fiber pin but when I switched to green it all cleared up. Of course I’m older and I’m sure my eyes are worse but I’ll peek through it and see. If it’s still a nogo it’ll be good for him anyway and I’m out nothing. You are probably right though I don’t expect much. I can see a dot on a pistol though at shooting distance so I’m hopeful

I think it’s all case by case, I have the classic starburst effect on my rmr’s but on my green Holosun 509t the green dot is actually round and clear like it should be.

The green dot on my 407k isn’t as clean as I thought it’d be. I tried the 407k in red at my local gun shop and the dot projection is way cleaner. Green is definitely brighter and easier to pick up in the 407k size though.

I wish I had just got a 407 and saved $100 because the circle dot is unusable for me.

This has more to do with them being prisms and LPVO. They are etched reticles and not projected. They should be clear even with astigmatisms.

With etched reticles “should be” is a strong word phrase.

Unless there is an adjustable diopter, a fixed setting is just kind of averaged for non corrected eyes. That would usually be prisms.

Archery is its own thing entirely. Lenses on these sometimes requires a clarifier or a verifier-
    If you know you know.

This is true and yes I do know. Orifice diameter in the rear sght alone can also clear an image but can also limit light transmission usually not to a detrimental point though depending on your application. I do know color also does make a difference as some eyes process, for lack of a better word, differently.

Light transmission is explicitly gathered through the objective lens. What you’re talking about is a part of pupil diameter. See exit pupil for research. There’s a formula that, and you can usually find the pupil diameter listed on the optic in question. This ties in with the eye box measurements, but the point is light is collected at the objective.

As far as a clear image, you’ll have some thing without a diopter, some type of a battle optic like a RSO (acog) eotech, etc . The solution is….wear your prescription glasses. That’s the military’s take on it. That’s my take on it. That’s the optic manufactures take on it. It’s not adjustable.

Then there’s reticle focus using a diopter on something like a regular target scope. Like on nods, you want to focus it out to infinite…if one’s eyes are only mildly bad, then it’s possible not needing to wear prescriptions to dial in.

Then lastly there’s target focus. A focus knob is usually shared with a parallax adjustment. They are not the same, but they exist on the same setting on many scopes. It’s possible to have good focus but parallax shift, or bad focus but parallax is minimized.

The color is just over advertised imo. They sell green laser levels because green is clearer to the eye. Everyone’s eye. So it stands to reason that green is better for astigmatism because green is easier to see in general. That just doesn’t address the actual problem at all…

I understand what you are saying but my last post was in reference to archery as that was what was last mentioned in your previous post. Wearing my glasses would be a help perhaps but bad habits being what they are I remove them for shooting, archery, as I would always end up just looking over them due to head and string angle. As age has taken its toll via my eyes and shoulders shooting at a competitive level has been taken from me so I have transitioned to shooting firearms more now I’m playing catch-up.

Took this one up the hill today. Did a 4 shot cleaning break in on it and 25ish yard zero to get it close for when I get the can for it. I was quite happy. First 4 rounds were 9"low, 7" left. Next 4 were 1" low, 1.5" left. After that, I punched a smiley face in the head of the green silhouette target. I need to get a folding stock adapter, VFG, and laser to add more to the "scary black gun" factor.
