I'll bury myself even further; this is for my buddy Joey.

Paul, a neighbor two houses down, hears my tools going off so he comes by to say hi (he always does this, super nice guy).

In his heavy accent he's all "oooh nice, you build it from scratch? Etc..."

Then says "..I uh came to see this finished. I want to see the final result" (pointing at my bumper that's on the ground)

    Large shelf.

He just got the "countertop" or whatever he's going to put on top. So I figured I'd halfway finish it really quick.

Had to stop cause I need to buy more angle iron and square tube.

@Yota X as for the wheel-vise stand it's stupid convenient!

You could just make a boxy sort of bottom to make it bottom heavy and throw some casters on it for easy mobility. But I opted for the spare tire route cause it's heavy enough for my use, and it was free.

I do want to make another welding table though with my 1/4" thick plate once my plasma table arrives.

Plasma table will replace the area where my current welding table lives.

Wife playing brain games; I'm way too tired for that.

    20221222_175314.jpg

    This week was 'finals'

Mon - Wed I was freaking panicking that I wouldn't have all 7 breads made, but I got it all done. These were our practicals and count as part of the final.

Then Thur (today) was our final exam.

Ended the course with an A so was stoked about that.

Yeah. I remember you saying that when you first had the tape down. Just didn’t know if it was the same project. Looks like you are getting dialed in at home.

When will the table arrive? That is gonna be so cool. They are pretty amazing to watch work. Do you have to be get a new torch or can the stock one work?

gotta make some shit. Was gonna use one of these 100 lb I beams but they are a bit heavy. A wheel is way easier to tool around.

Space is my only constraint, mainly cause I leave the other half vacant for a car.

Today was a different story as I pulled everything off my welding table and put it in the vacant space; allowed me to get work done.

I emailed Langmuir yesterday and they replied immediately saying it's set to ship late next week; I'll get the tracking info as soon as the label is created.

And nope, I can use the hand torch my plasma cutter came with but I may opt to buy the machine torch PrimeWeld also offers. The benefit to the machine torch is it's easier to replace consumables on while it's all setup. But another benefit I'm looking at is the ability to quickly disconnect the machine torch and plug in the hand torch when I need to cut something manually.

Oh and, consumables are the same for both the hand torch and machine torch.

If I were you, I'd cut out a chunk of that beam and use it as a base for a stand or two. Put a grinding wheel on one, maybe a belt sander on another?
