Seems about right but wx is always difficult to predict. Maybe stay overnight at Furnace Creek and enjoy a nice meal--save the adventure for spring?

There is but it it looks like DV will escape some, if not most, of it. However, the weather hasn't been moving as predicted. At least up this way. The 10 day is for rain today and dry but windy before returning to sunny for the remainder of the week.

This is obviously week-old data, but I went through North Pass on 12/4. Was cold (daytime highs in the mid 30s, night lows in the mid-20s) and a little icy, but not slick and completely safe. Spent several days in Saline (daytime highs in the 50s, nights in the high 30s) at elevations up to about 7K feet, just a bit of snow at those higher spots.

Edit: the drive home (north through Bishop, Reno, Donner Summit to I-5) was a disaster, even a week ago. I called 911 twice on the way home to report multi-car pileups that had just occurred. Other than the accidents, it's a good thing, we need the precip!

    A couple shots above Saline.

Tioga has been closed for a while now. Same with Sonora. With this weekends storms, oh boy!

Thanks for the North Pass updates, heading out soon with a new itinerary. It may be a slog just getting over the Sierra this morning … but better than yesterday.
I’ve done it with a few inches more than this but I’d expect a few more feet this afternoon.

    This destination was very.....rewarding.
Waking down the mine was creepy as fuck all alone. Went about a quarter mile down the mine before I turned around.

A mile off 395 along Hot Creek Rd, where the plowing ended and just before the winter gate. This morning.

With racks and my snowboard up there, I thought I wouldn't clear the low spot about 15' in, and since I was solo and had no spotter, I didn't want to be that asshole.

What's the clearance in there? I was under the impression it was below 7 feet?

Not entirely sure but I made it in with a lift, 33s, my RSI cap with load bars. I had several inches to spare.
