1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

It's in the laundry room along with the furnace. Lower level, same level as the garage.

No drain so it made a mess. Fortunately It had just started leaking when I found it. Still a lot of work.

So replacements aren't too bad, I picked one up from HD today for $750. The issue now is getting it installed. Their 'same day" install service can't get out here until Monday.

 

Diy'ing a water heater isnt bad. Especially if its electric.

 

The PNW is a natural gas kinda place, not much electric anything besides cars. But still I bet he doesn't even need any lines sweat in, probably a quick change besides the heavy parts.

It may come to that. It's natural gas.

 

My water heater isn't insulated at all so it loses a ton of heat to the cellar but I suppose that also keeps the water lines from freezing

Well at least you caught it early. I couldn't remember if it was hidden away behind the mountain of parts behind the redhead. I know when mine went out there were additional costs because they have to bring it "up to code" at install so be aware the cost may rise. Or I got swindled.

 

Anyone can hire a personal assistant. Paying them is the hard part.

Yeah I've been considering it. Not sure what it would be worth time wise but having someone to manage all my Dr appointments and making insurance claims and contractor scheduling would be nice. Even better if they could handle DMV and the shit around that lol
