The cold of space was just fine before it suffered significant heat shield damage, talking 30% of tiles. Not sure how that compares to previous capsules.

I would say they changed commodities that they are purging the capsule with, now it's just getting breathing air, in orbit it wouldve gotten nitrogen or helium. With breathing air condensation/freezing liquid is what you're trying to avoid.

Speaking of the experts, It makes me think twice when comes to what the experts said. Some of the things they've said appears to be deceptive and irresponsible

 

23 Saturday for us when I have to go to work

 

I gotta be honest... NOT having to go out in the cold and bad weather for the idiot drivers, frequent flyers and other various things has been great for me

 

I’ve been keeping an eye out for info on the heat shield but most sources have been really quiet…

I thought the heat shield itself was one big chunk of ablative material, not made up of tiles?

Nope. It was monolithic for the test vehicle. Orion has tiles. You should watch this past Sunday's NSF Live on YouTube. They had the guy on that was in charge of them.

Its too quiet in here so im gonna post some pics..

 

I need some better heating options for my shed shop and my garage. Too damn cold with the outside temps 2 degrees.

On a side note, I fired up my heat treat oven around noon and heat treated a blade. That kept my shed shop toasty for quite while as the Heat from the 2200 degree oven radiated about.

 

Small wood stove? Or a toyotomi? How big are the spaces?

 

shed is 9’x16’
attached Garage is 24’x30’ with 12’ ceilings.

 

Power in the shed? And i assume the garage does? A toyo can be a good option, especially if the building is well insulated. We have the largest toyo in our frost/mud room which is about 12x30, keeps it toasty out there(wood stove is on opposite side of cabin)
If the shed isnt well insulated id opt for a woodstove if the wood nazis dont stop u.

 

I’ve got a 220v panel in the shed. Walls and roof are insulated, the floor is not. I have no extra floor space in the shed.

 

Hanging propane heater in the shed? I had one in the garage back home(coast range oregon) and it worked great. Still a little chilly laying on the concrete floor but waay better than no heat at all.
