Why not wait for a really windy day and then take it in. Maybe you could duplicate the sound then?

Touchy-feely stuff like squeak, rattles, wind noise, etc. are not always fixable. If you had bought a Lexus, they'd probably treat you better. Toyota? Not so much... The company has this two-tier service to differentiate the brands.

I had a similar noise at 95 mph, installing the All-Pro bumper somehow made it go away.

The windshield is sealed its the lip of the moulding that lifts up. I agree about fixing it and I attempted it myself already using additional silicone but it just didnt stick. I could probably get a stronger adhesive but my concern is that who knows what this may turn into down the road and if I just drop it and it gets worse then I would be weeks if not months behind the process of getting it repaired at which point they will say, well we never heard from you again we must have fixed it. I just think in the grand scheme of things at compplaint at 900 miles stands a better chance of getting fixed than one at 100,000 miles.

has anyone priced what vehicles cost today? vehicle prices are friggin ridiculous. 30k for a 4x4 truck with all the options we have is not bad.....but anyway, if your not happy, get rid of it.

Um, it's by far the most expensive in our class. Yes, I did my research. Our truck is priced in the F150, full-sized range with v8's. Do yours.

These posts alluding to this being no big deal and a little squeek are incredible. Have you listened to the video? imagine driving for 4 hours straight with that sound. I have done it twice now. Its unbearable and turning up the radio does not drownd it out. Its not some little squeek its the equivelent of your neighbors dog barking all night long.

Also its not a dealer issue its a Toyota issue. The delaer said they would be more than happy to do any repair required to fix it but Toyota needs to tell them what to do. Toyota pays the dealerships to fix their cars. I am already past the dealer I'm dealing with Toyota Corporate.

Imagine driving 22hrs from Phoenix to Portland with it on/off going. You can only run the JBL at level 45 for so long before you're popping advil like candy :D

Also note, that video.... was the weakest I've heard it in my truck, just happened to be the only 'safe' moment I could get it captured for reference.

Anyt body try taking it to a reputable glass company and having them check it out since this would be their area of expertise, I would say one the dealer would recommend would probably be the best bet, or possibly using regulated shop air at the dealer ship to similuate the situation so its not a safety issue with there technicians.

we are getting a little bit off topic here. there are no vehicles that are in our class, that come with the options we are given...nor are there any vehicles in our class that have the reputation of quality, longevity, or residual value that our vehicles have.....

Go to a different dealer. The fact they had to outsource it to a glass shop should give you an idea of their capabilities. Wouldn't trust them to apply the TSB properly even if they were will to do it.

The other option is to wait until the TSB gets updated to cover 2011 models. Seems like a common occurrence, so Toyota should get more complaints on it eventually. Your warranty is good for 3 years anyway.

You can use 3m Scotch -Blue Painter's tape. Mask off a section of window seal at a time. Do the A pillar (drivers side) first if you still hear it tape off the top of the glass still hear the noise then tape off the B pillar (passager side). When the noise is gone you have isolated the section causing the noise if it is still there it's not the glass.

 they've only been out since 2005. past performance is not an indicator of future results. I think it says that in the manual now-a-days. If you're buying reputation, caveat emptor, reputation doesn't get you to work on time.

    Your truck has options?

And.. my truck doesn't pay residuals.. jk.

But actually, a cursory glance does show its not as expensive as some trucks lumped into the class, but that class is arguable. Full sized, small cab, v6, what? Like economy f150? Its hard to place. Frontier is the only one that fits and it is cheaper.

YEa, are technicians so dumb that they look at a tsb in their manual and then look at the year on the truck and say "yup, won't work" or does toyota have the techs tied down to only doing exactly what they say when they say it.

I could take it to a glass shop. I could pay for a new moulding. I could pay for a new windshield. But I don't know why I would its like if my engine blew up tomorrow and the dealersaid sorry not going to help you then just saying ok I will go pay to have a mechanic fix it.

If Toyota wont honor their warranty then give me the money back I paid for the warranty and I wont complain. I think 15k will about cover it and you will never hear a peep from me about toyota quality or their poor customer service and fraud of a warranty.
