How do you come to that conclusion? It can out truck every truck in its size range.

But I read that Consumer Reports doesn’t like it and they are real truck people.

I consider every truck that is more cab than bed an SUV, including the Lightning. 4 fullsize doors and bed that is less than 6' is the threshold I go by, most people will disagree with that classification.

Does the R1T and R1S use the same frame?

    Edit

I know I was going to forget to say this

The body and bed of the R1T is a single piece like an SUV.

So a total nonsense criteria. The R1T and S use different frames.

Well, I got news for you, four-door trucks with short beds are out selling access cab versions, and I think you can only buy a Ford F150 with a short cab and a short bed and GM only offers a short cab with a LONG bed. Toyota discontinued the short cab for the third generation Tacoma.

    What's the R1S longer?

Traditional SUV often had longer frames than their pick up counter parts. Look at a Chevy Suburban compared to a regular cab 8' bed Chevy 1/2 ton.

You can always go by the definition in the dictionary.

    Utility Vehicle

a vehicle that is designed to carry out a particulartask, often a smalltruck with an open back and lowsides that is able to traveleasily over roughground:

OK Chevy K-5 Blazer compared to a Chevy pick up.

Thanks I couldn't recall with Rivian had the longer frame.

I think it would be more of a fair assessment to say the S uses a shortened version of the T frame. They are VERY closely related. Sort of like the long wheelbase and short wheelbase 3rd generation Tacos.

Yes 4dr short beds are the most popular vehicles sold.

F-150 is available with an 8' bed on every cab configuration as of 2022. Along with regular cab short beds.

GM sells their 1/2 tons as a regular cab short bed, and offer the 8' bed on all cab configs for 22 and 23 MY.

Edit GM might not sell a 1/2 ton crewcab 8' box anymore. HD trucks are available with 8' bed in all cab configs.

Yup and that doesn't change the capability of the vehicle.
Nope one is a feline and the other is a canine.

So I have a SUV that can carry more in its bed than a Tacoma truck. Ok.

Don't forget the frunk. EV makers are missing the mark by not equipping the frunk with an optional electric clothes dryer.

The dog is the feline and the cat is the canine? Correct?

Agree on this…Rivian looks like something Pixar designed - and the story of the Rivian reminds me of Toy Story.

A boy that doesn’t want to play with the old Toy[ota]s now that the new fancy high-tech “toy” was released.
