EV intrest is falling off among the general public as automotive sales cool off. I don't think people are going to be all that interested in going electric if and when automotive sales improve.

Although EV adoption seems to be on the rise, high inflation and the increasing cost of raw materials coupled with supply chain issues, could push back adoption rates. Only time will tell how the economic climate coupled with a changing awareness will shape the auto industry.


Looking at the overall decline in new automotive retail sales. EV only make up a small portion of those sales, EV sales are going to decline as well. 21 & 22 are going to be the best EV sales numbers the industry is going to see for some time.

Look at Tesla, their stock price is way down. The Twitter acquisition was a move to stay relevant in cyber space, while tech stocks plummet, and the anti Elon as a celeb campaign in the media. Look at the stocks from the legacy auto corps, way down after EV adoption. You can also look at the other EV start ups who aren't Tesla.

 

Most of the smaller ev companies will be out of business soon ie rivian.

 

They will be if they continue to spend more money than they make. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to correct that. The EV start ups do not offer their products in the world's biggest EV markets.

 

None of that supports your claim that interest in EVs is falling off.

 

Interest much like demand can't be supported with out the means or willingness to purchase.

I'm still very interested in driving a Ford Raptor as a daily truck. I have very little interest in paying what the asking price is for one, I'm not all that interested in paying MSRP for a Raptor.
