I don't need proof, look at the current market for new EVs.

Check back at the end of 2023 and look at the sales numbers for EVs in 23.

In other words you’re just making stuff up. US sales for EVs are currently sitting at a 68% increase compared to this time last year.

I said 22 sales are going to be better than 23 sales. Those prior 22 sales are mostly due to Lightning and R1T sales which don't help Tesla, the who holds the largest share of US EV sales. Those E truck sales are also impacting Tacoma sales. All retail vehicle sales are down in Q4 22, that trend is going to carry over thru out 23.

Customers have already taken delivery, or placed orders for their EVs. Those numbers are not going to increase next year.

Ford and Rivian have contributed very, very little to that number. Tesla sold about 120k vehicles in Q3 2022 while Ford and Rivian combined for 13k trucks sold. Toyota sold 67k Tacomas in Q3 2022, a 10% increase over Q3 2021. So far in Q4 2022 (Oct/Nov) Toyota has sold about 8500 more Tacomas than the same months in Q4 2021. Your claims are not supported by real world data and facts.

That's 13k more trucks than Tesla sold which translates into 13k more EVs sold. That Tesla wasn't going to sell in the 1st place.

That was Q3 I wouldn't expect Tesla Q4 sales to be better than Q3. People have become less interested in buying EVs.

22 Tacoma sales were due to pent up demand combined with the amount of mark ups dealers placed on new Tacomas. Current interest rate hikes were not applied to Q3 Tacoma sales, Q4 sales of Tacomas will be lower than Q3.

So again, a bunch of conjecture with no data to support it. What study or research supports your claim that people are no longer interested in buying EVs?

The pool of potential EV buyers is only so large. Many of them have jumped in, and are driving or waiting delivery of an EV, they aren't trading for another EV anytime soon. That's before the considerations of outside economic forces are applied to the situation.

No data or study needs to be inolved to show there are less customers who are willing to purchase an EV.

Right. Research and studies are what provides the data to make claims like that. How do you know what the EV buyer pool size is? How do you know that many of them already own or have an EV on order? How do you know none of them are considering trading in or purchasing another EV?

    Don't need that information.

You can quote this post with a link to the 2023 EV sales report when it's released here.

We can both look at those numbers.

It’s so weird that the people who have “no interest” in EVs seem to be constantly posting about them.

Not just here, on BaT auctions, car blogs, Facebook, YouTube videos. I don’t get it. If EVs aren’t for you, idk go do literally anything else? How do people have time and energy to hate and complain so much?

Differing view points are important, but those asshats are just trolls. They get their jollies by posting ridiculous bullshit and having people respond to them. It's really sad if you think about it. How fucked up in the head do you have to be to get pleasure from that? I block them and my life is better because of that.

We just before covid we replaced our fleet of service vans with Ford Transits. The EV's version wasn't available yet but they would be perfect for our application. Our guys drive maybe 50 miles a day, and that's only if they have to make a parts run. Most days 10-20 miles is all they do. As a business having a van down for repairs or maintenance is a huge drag on our productivity. We figure it out when a van is down, but imagine no maintenance or gas station runs.

That's 250 - 310 miles in banana units. If you need it, you need it. But for us, why pay for a battery we will never use. If charging is a challenge the extra range could be useful. Our vans come back to the shop at the end of the day and could easily recharge over night.

I like the diesel 4x4 Sprinter vans. Electric over diesel is the only time I favor electric power, mostly because of the DEF system. I'd go gas Sprinter, but I think 4WD is diesel only. I have no use for a cargo van, driving a Sprinter wouldn't make much sense for me. Compated to the cost of pick ups, and the build quality of MBZ vans is what made the Sprinter appealing. I only like the low roof short wheel base configuration.
