    Spill some dirt!

That sounds like a good hearty meal!

Call a towing company and tell them that it's an abandoned vehicle, they will take it into impound.

A quick check in- it was 40° when I left for work at 0630, it's down to 20° with a windchill of 2° and it's going to keep dropping down to around 8° tonight. I had plans to go to a GTG at the mom's house tomorrow, I am staying put because I will need to feed the woodstove a steady diet of oak and ash tree carcass parts to keep the hut warm. Good luck to everyone dealing with the cold, and I hope that Andy is putting on the sunscreen! He can get a tan for the rest of us.

    Thanks Jim !!

Haven't heard anything from him since 1300hrs and thinking about texting him

Update .... just got a text back from my brother , he can't get a connecting flight until Sunday evening so he's going to go find a hotel and fly back to Hawaii tomorrow morning

So much for having a nice family Christmas this year !! :frusty::pout:

Ontop of that i went outside to start my truck used the key fob to unlock the doors . Went to open the passenger door and it wouldn't open . Tried opening the three other doors and same thing . I know the locks are unlocked as I can see the door lock handles are moving . So I'm thinking the doors are frozen shut and yes I didn't wash my truck but it did rain a few hours prior to the deep freeze we've had today

That brings back memories of my 1st Christmas at Camp Pendleton. The site of decorated palm trees was a shock, along with running around in shorts and a t shirt during the day.

Can't really tell as it's still -8 deg outside and I don't have clue how to defrost the doors . I might just tow it once again to the dealer because I bet the battery is dead again

    hmmm....let's see
on the piss you off side of the spectrum....we've (and other sub contractors) had to go back and replace things in new construction - not yet finished houses because the rich kids get drunk, get bored and have no supervision so they all head out in the wee hours and vandalize the houses. worst case was a house about 3 years ago - we get a call there that was "some vandalism" over a weekend and that we need to come back and assess the damage. house was 98% done - just touch up paint, clean and move in the furniture. someone had come in and found some hammers and sledge hammers and went nuts. we ended up replacing about half of the cabinet doors, most of the countertops, tile walls and floor, a few toilets and sinks. the vandals also had a heyday with the light fixtures and glass shower doors. ended up being about $200k-250k in damages. most of the larger contractors were covered by insurance but some of the small time guys lost their asses. and no charges were ever filed against the people responsible but there was a security camera that caught a group walking in. maybe the parents paid everyone off to keep JR out of the county jail
and other extravagant side of things there are stories of people hiring private jets to fly in food from their favorite restaurants in NYC, Chicago, LA, Seattle, etc. pretty sure there is a regularly scheduled haul of waygu beef that comes in through the airport here.
i would guess the inventory for the wine cellar and liquor warehouse is for well over $2mil - and that's just for the inventory, not the building
they don't manage their public resources well and there have been two instances of the sewage pond overflowing and ending up in the river. theres a good stretch of river that I will NEVER fish for that reason.

Sorry he’s not going to make it for Christmas. I was afraid that might happen when I heard about the issues Denver and other cities were having.

If you’re not in a rush to go anywhere, just wait it out. The doors will unfreeze when the temperature rises. If you need to get in the truck now, try pouring lukewarm tap water over the door seems while pulling on the door gently. Some folks recommend adding table salt to the water to help melt the ice. Do not use hot water, the temperature shock can break the glass.
