And this is a story of truck photography adventures that I don't think I've told. It was probably 2014 and I was in the parking lot at Bucks County Community College after class. The parking lot at Bucks was one of my favorite places to take pictures of vehicles, but aside from one encounter with overly aggressive security guards in February 2014, I'd never had a problem up until that point.

It was broad daylight, and BCCC is in a very upscale area; I saw black 1994-1997ish S-10, mostly stock and in decent rust-free condition which is virtually unheard of in PA, and I started taking pictures with my big Nikon. When I took pictures of vehicles in the college parking lot, I either took the pictures quickly and was gone long before the owner showed up, or I approached the owner and asked permission. This was the first and only time I remember where the owner of the vehicle happened to come out while I was taking pictures.

This is the type of mentality I will never understand; "I see a large man with an SLR camera taking pictures of my vehicle in broad daylight, dressed in rather distinctive clothes (I was wearing a Hawaiian shirt during one 2013 confrontation) and making no attempt to hide what he is doing, so he must up to something nefarious!"

    Fuckin' morons.

The owner of the S-10 and his buddy came out, and they were not happy. These were college kids, probably a few years younger then. Most of the time when I'm talking my way out of potential trouble, I have my sunglasses on; I was not wearing my sunglasses at this time, I tended to get very nervous under scrutiny when I wasn't wearing them because I had an obvious lazy eye, which didn't get corrected until 2017 (this was in 2014). I started stuttering, and looking back on it, I can still visualize those guys circling around me sizing me up. They were ready to fight, because I took pictures of the one guy's S-10...

I explained that I planned to use the pictures in a Chevy truck tribute video on YouTube, and he was initially fine with it; I walked back to my Tacoma, got in it, and sat there with the A/C on for a few minutes before leaving. The guys had seen me go back to my truck, and the one guy decided he didn't want pictures of his truck on the Internet, so he walked up to my truck and asked me to not use them in the video.

Assholes are rare, and people in my age bracket with cool trucks who don't want the pictures posted on the internet are unheard of, so that came as a shock.

Once again, I almost never use my conspicuous Nikon SLR to take pictures of cars and trucks outside of shows; I did once get out of my truck while doing DoorDash in a sketchy part of Philly one morning, to take pictures of a 1985 Rolls-Royce parked on a residential street.

A good number of the people who have confronted me for taking pictures of their vehicles see what I'm driving; I love Chevy trucks, but a lot of the vehicles I've actually been confronted for taking pictures of are decidedly shittier than my truck. I could be an asshole, but I'm not, though there have been times when I've been tempted to say "Look at what I'm driving and look at what you're driving. Why would I have interest in stealing your piece of shit when I'm driving a late model Tacoma?" My Tacoma has not been considered "late model" in a while, but all of these confrontations took place between 2012 and 2016, so it was fairly new...

If I came out of a place and someone I didn’t know was taking pictures of my truck.
I’d probably say something like, “Hey, what happen man?” but say it in the forum of a question. (Alternative to “What are you doing?”)
I wouldn’t jump to conclusions, but I would be curious.

A lot things can be avoid by the tone and way which you say something.

People have every right to be suspicious and ask questions, but sometimes they get a little too hyped up. I have a Toyota hat that I go out of my way to wear when "stalking" Toyotas in parking lots, because people see that hat and they automatically realize that I'm a dedicated fanboy...

I can not think of a good reason why I should care if someone took pictures of my truck.
So I wouldn’t mind. I’d just be curious why?
I’ll even tell them about it. I don’t care.

I was in NJ in 98’ or 99’.

2 of my very best friends are from New Jersey.
It wasn’t until I met them, that I learned that’s just the way people from Jersey are.
They don’t mean to come across as assholes. They talk to each other the same way. Nothing is personal.
I’d be down for another trip one day. Now that I know it “wasn’t me” and that’s just the way they are?

I’d say the nicest place as far as people? - Ontario Canada.
    State side? - West Virginia

This is a house in a neighborhood near mine that was built in 1986. It is just under 2,200 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and used to have a more traditional colonial-style appearance; I am not sure what I think of the contemporary modern makeover...

What's weird is that this section of the neighborhood consists almost entirely of houses that were built in the late 1970s, and the houses on either side of this one were both built in the late 1970s; I'm thinking that something happened to this house in the first decade after being built that caused it to have to get rebuilt (likely a fire)...

Almost all of the houses in this section of the neighborhood are 2-story colonials, most with 1-car garages but a few with 2-car garages. Some have 4 bedrooms, but most have 3, and they all have at least 2 bathrooms. The majority have central air now and a few were actually built with it back in 1976-1979 when the neighborhood was built, but it was an extra-cost option, and there is at least one house that does not have it and still uses window units. The Vietnam vet with all the Christmas decorations spent the extra money for central air and told me that the builder offered a choice between oil heat and an electric heat pump. I can't remember if natural gas was an option or not, but considering how rural Warrington was less than 35 years ago, I am going to go with no. Some of the newer houses have natural gas heat, and strangely enough some of the houses on the other side of the neighborhood that were built in the late 1960s and 1970s do have public natural gas; I know this because my friend's parents owned one of the older houses for nearly 25 years. They had to put in central air though. The veteran with the Christmas decorations has oil heat.

Idunno, guess it worked for them. Ive lived in numerous houses, we usually fix what we dont like, usually if we can afford it...or end up moving. While i miss certain things from each, im never really 100% emotionally attatched to a house.

I'd buy a house with a 1-car garage as a first place if the price was right; I don't plan on owning more than two vehicles at any given time before I turn 45 (which will be March 2034), so a large garage isn't at the top of my list. It has to have central air, I would prefer not to have oil heat, and it must have a fireplace; I would also prefer at least full bathrooms if I decide to take on a roommate to help offset the mortgage payments...

The panel look is ok, the rustic look is ok too around the garage and entry.

That said the rustic look on the main portion of the house looks like the panels fell off - fail.

I'd take a bigger garage over a fireplace any day.
